METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR TRACKING CARTS AND RETAIL PRODUCTS IN A SHOPPING SPACE
In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful for a retail facility to maintain information regarding product location, in part, from correlating a shopper's cart path and their purchased items with those of other shoppers. In some approaches, the methods and apparatuses may determine a cart path for a particular shopping cart by analyzing aisle markers captured by an image capturing device in the shopping cart, associate that cart path with the purchased items from that shopping cart, and compare the associated cart path and purchased items with similar information from other customers. In some examples, by comparing the associated cart paths and purchased items form a plurality of customers, an aisle location of one of the retail items is identified and the database of aisle locations and retail items may be updated accordingly.
METHOD, A DEVICE AND A SYSTEM FOR CHECKOUT
The present invention discloses a method, a device, and a system for checkout. Items are provided in a case with a locked door. The system and method unlock the door in response to a request from a pre-registered customer. Cameras trained on the case take a plurality of hand images of the customer and use those images to identify the item in the hand as well as whether the action is a take-up action or a put-back action. The identification of the item is done with at least one pre-trained classification model, and a second pre-trained classification model may be used to distinguish between visually similar items in the case, if the first pre-trained classification model identifies an item on a list of visually similar items. Once the item and the nature of the action are identified, a shopping list is automatically generated.
POINT OF SALE DEVICE FOR MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE
Point of sale (POS) systems and methods are described. A POS device includes a housing with a payment instrument reader. The payment instrument reader reads payment instrument information from a payment instrument in response to receipt of the payment instrument at a read area of the housing. The POS device includes a first fastening mechanism that secures the housing to a mount that is coupled to a surface of the environment. The POS device includes a cradle of the housing that receives a mobile computing device. The POS device includes a second fastening mechanism that secures the mobile computing device within the cradle. The POS device includes a connector coupled to the payment instrument reader and extending into the cradle. The connector is configured to couple to the mobile computing device in the cradle, to convey the payment instrument information from the payment instrument reader to the mobile computing device.
CASH DRAWER EXOSKELETON SYSTEM
Embodiments of a cashdrawer exoskeleton system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a modular base piece has an integrated fastener configured to facilitate a coupling to a cash drawer. An aperture is formed through the top surface of the modular base piece and leads to an area where the cash drawer is positioned when the modular base piece is coupled to the cash drawer utilizing the integrated fastener. At least one spacer is then configured to facilitate creation of a gap between the modular base piece and the cash drawer when the modular base piece is coupled to the cash drawer utilizing the integrated fastener.
MONITORING ITEM MISMATCHES DURING CHECKOUTS IN STORES AND PREVENTING LOSSES DUE TO THE ITEM MISMATCHES
A computer-implemented method, computer program product, and computer system for preventing losses due to mismatches during checkouts in a store. The computer system causes one or more sensors to capture one or more attributes of an item being checked out by a customer. The computer system matches the captured one or more attributes to one or more attributes corresponding to one of a barcode scanned, a number keyed in, and an item name chosen by the customer. The computer system pauses a checkout process, in response to a mismatch. The computer system calculates a difference between a price corresponding to one of the barcode, the number, and the item name and an actual price of the item. The computer system, in response to determining a significant loss occurring to the store, notifies the store to correct the mismatch and processes a transaction of the item at the actual price.
READING DEVICE
A reading device provided to obtain information specifying a product, the device including a housing, an imaging unit, and an illumination unit. The housing includes a transparent reading window. The imaging unit is built in the housing and captures an image through the reading window. The illumination unit illuminates an imaging target of the imaging unit by performing surface emission of light toward the outside of the housing. The illumination unit is disposed outside an edge of the reading window and is inclined with respect to the reading window so as to protrude more with respect to the reading window toward a side farther from the reading window.
System and method for point of sale transaction logging
The present disclosure generally relates to a method and a hardware and software system for collecting data from retail point of sale. The hardware connects to a wide variety of barcode scanners and receipt printers. Collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based infrastructure backend system using a wireless internet connection built into the hardware. The collected data can be processed to extract item-level transaction information, and estimate the price and in-stock status of items in particular shops. A search engine can be provided using this data, which allows a customer to discover which nearby shop has an item of interest in stock. A targeted advertising system that complements this search service is also presented. The data can be used by retailers and manufacturers for business analysis and optimization.
Logical validation of devices against fraud and tampering
This disclosure is directed to receiving a request for attesting security of a device, determining to approve the request based on attestation data associated with the device, generating a ticket having validity conditions, and sending the ticket to the device to enable the device to receive payment data from a second device.
Systems and methods for reader device registration, use, and management
A method and apparatus for reader device registration, activation, and use are described. The method may include receiving, by a commerce platform, a registration request generated by a reader device, wherein the registration request comprises at least identification data for the reader device. The method may also include transmitting, to the reader device, a registration code. The method may also include receiving, by the commerce platform from a merchant system, a second registration code purported to be the registration code transmitted to the reader device. The method may also include generating an encryption key associated with the reader device and transmitting the encryption key to the merchant system, wherein the encryption key is provided by merchant system to the reader device for use by the reader device when communicating with the commerce platform during merchant transactions.
INSPECTION SYSTEM AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
When an unfair gaming currency is delivered to a dealer from a player, the currency is detected as unfair. The inspection system for inspecting the gaming currency, in which an RF tag is built, comprises: a gaming currency tray for housing the gaming currencies of the dealer in a casino game; an RF reader for reading the RF tags of the plural gaming currencies housed in the gaming currency tray; plural photosensors for detecting at least the number of the plural gaming currencies housed in the gaming currency tray at a constant time interval or always in a method other than RFID; and an inspection/alarm part for generating alarms when the number of the gaming currencies whose RF tags are read by the RF reader is not equal to the number of the gaming currencies detected by the plural photosensors.
