ARTICLE READING DEVICE
An article reading device according to an embodiment includes a display device and an image capturing device that generates an image of an article. A processor extracts, from the image, first feature data for recognizing the article and second feature data for determining whether to recognize the article based on the first feature data. The processor determines whether to recognize the article. If it is determined to recognize the article, the processor recognizes the article based on the extracted first feature data, and controls the display device to display a recognition result. If it is determined to not recognize the article, extract a barcode from the image, the processor identifies the article based on the extracted barcode, and control the display device to display an identification result. The processor performs a transaction settlement with respect to the recognition result, if any, and the identification result, if any.
BONUS ACCUMULATION SYSTEM, BONUS ACCUMULATION METHOD, AND NFC TERMINAL DEVICE THEREFOR
The present invention provides a bonus accumulation system comprising: a payment terminal device which is installed in a business branch and transmits/receives, to/from a payment approval company, a commercial transaction approval request and commercial transaction approval confirmation; a near field communication (NFC) terminal device having an NFC function, which directly receives final payment approval data from the payment terminal device, using a serial communication module of the payment terminal device, and calculates bonus data; and a user terminal device for receiving the calculated bonus data from the NFC terminal device through NFC, and sending a request for an approval of the received bonus data to a bonus server and receiving the approval through a mobile communication network.
MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
A managing unit correlates and manages a first captured image with an accounting device identifier of one accounting device designated so as to perform accounting processing of the registered commodity among accounting device identifiers for respectively identifying a plurality of accounting devices. The first captured image is a customer who asks a sales clerk operating a registration device to register a commodity. The specifying unit compares a second captured image of a customer who operates the accounting device to each first captured image, and specifies the first captured image, when the accounting device starts the accounting processing. The determining unit determines whether an accounting device identifier corresponding to the first captured image coincides with an accounting device identifier of the accounting device operated by the customer included in the second captured image. The control unit inhibits the accounting processing which is performed in the accounting device operated by the customer, under a condition that the determining unit determines the identifiers not to coincide.
EXPEDITED CHECKOUT SYSTEM THROUGH PORTABLE CHECKOUT UNITS
An expedited checkout system allows a customer to generate a virtual shopping list on a client application operating on the customer's mobile device, and expedite checkout from a store using the client application. While shopping within a store, a customer can temporarily secure a mobile device to a portable checkout unit that is attached to a shopping cart. The portable checkout unit can receive item identifiers from an item scanner and transmits item identifiers to the customer's mobile device. The customer's mobile device generates a virtual shopping list of the items collected by the customer and, when the customer is ready to check out of the store, the customer can select a checkout option presented on the mobile device. In response to receiving the checkout selection, the mobile device initiates a checkout transaction to check out the customer from the store.
Sku translation between point of sale systems in kiosk-based quick service restaurant environments
Disclosed embodiments provide the ability to create a single customer-operated kiosk quick service restaurant ordering system menu application which may be easily integrated with any number of different back office point of sale system implementations without compromising menu design and the customer user interface experience.
High-velocity scanned item distribution method and apparatus
A high-velocity scanned item distribution apparatus and method are presented. The high-velocity scanned item distribution apparatus permits bagging operations for multiple purchase transactions to occur in parallel. Overlapping the bagging operation of multiple purchase transactions allows the scanning and payment operations of the purchase transactions to continue at higher speeds. In addition, point of sale terminals with high-velocity item scanners are allowed to function at higher speeds.
POS system and control method of a POS system
A POS system SY has a card reader 4 that reads data; a printer 2 connected to the card reader 4 and receiving data input from the card reader 4; and a tablet terminal 1 connected to the printer 2. The tablet terminal 1 has a POS application 52 for executing a transaction process, a payment application 53 for executing a payment process based on data input to the printer 2, and a control unit 110 that controls the POS application 52 and payment application 53.
Reading apparatus, wireless tag reader, and code reader
A reading apparatus includes a wireless tag reader including an antenna and an antenna surface facing a first direction and through which the antenna emits a radio wave to read tag information from a wireless tag, and a code reader including an imaging unit and an imaging window facing the first direction and through which the imaging unit acquires an image to read a code. The code reader further includes a grip detachably connected to the wireless tag reader.
PROCESSING APPARATUS, PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
The present invention provides a processing apparatus (10) including a customer identification information acquisition unit (11) that acquires customer identification information, a request information acquisition unit (12) that acquires, from a server that stores customer registration information in which request information indicating whether issue of an electronic receipt is requested is registered in association with the customer identification information, the request information stored in association with the customer identification information acquired by the customer identification information acquisition unit (11), and a display control unit (13) that displays, on a display, at least either one of an inquiry screen that inquires about whether to issue a paper receipt and a checkout details screen indicating at least a part of information included in an electronic receipt, when a content of the acquired request information requests issue of the electronic receipt.
REGISTRY VERIFICATION FOR A MECHANIZED STORE
Registry verification is used in a mechanized store. A camera is used to count a first number of items taken by a user. The items are scanned to determine a second number of items. The first number of items is compared to the second number of items to reduce a likelihood of errors.
