A receipt data processing device includes a data generating section, an output section, and a converting section. The data generating section is configured to generate receipt data of a first data format including information about an item purchased by a customer. The output section is configured to output the receipt data to at least one of a printing device and an external device that is different from the printing device. The converting section is configured to convert a data format of the receipt data from the first data format to a second data format that is different from the first data format when the receipt data is output to the external device.

A point-of-sale terminal includes a storage device in which first form data specifying a first image layout of image elements on a paper slip to be printed by the printer is stored, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine whether or not a promotion is offered, and determine whether or not an electronic receipt is issued. The processor is further configured to control a printer to print an image indicating the promotion on a paper slip with the first image layout, when it is determined that the promotion is offered and the electronic receipt is not issued, and control a communication interface to transmit promotion data of the promotion in a text format, when it is determined that the promotion is offered and the electronic receipt is issued. The promotion data includes a form identifier of the first image layout and does not include the first form data.

An intelligent advertisement publishing system and method based on a double-sided printer distribution map. The method includes: generating a distribution map based on geographical location information of double-sided printers; displaying the distribution map of the double-sided printers, and after obtaining advertisement content input by a user and an advertisement publishing scope selected by the user on the distribution map, generating advertisement information; parsing to obtain the corresponding advertisement publishing scope and advertisement content, generating corresponding advertisement push information based on the advertisement content, and sending the advertisement push information to double-sided printers in the advertisement publishing scope; and enabling the double-sided printers to print the corresponding advertisement information at the back of cash register paper when printing cash registration information.

A product return/replacement device performs return/replacement of products, the device having a computer and a printer. The computer is equipped with: a read unit that reads a return/replacement reception code that indicates that the consumer has made a return/replacement reservation; a communication unit that transmits the return/replacement code read by the read unit to an external return/replacement server, and receives from the return/replacement server a delivery code for managing the delivery status of the product; and a processor for causing the printer to print a label displaying the delivery code transmitted from the return/replacement serve. The consumer can affix the printed label to the product for return/replacement, and when the read unit has read the delivery code displayed on the label affixed to the product, the communication unit transmits the delivery code read by the read unit to the external return/replacement server.

An online site configured to facilitate ecommerce transactions between users and the store is also provided. The cashier station is in communication with the online store whereby recommended products are presented to the customer on the screen in response to the input of a product ID at the cashier station allowing the customer to make additional related purchases from the online site contemporaneously with the in-store purchase.
