PRINTING DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY BASED ON CONSUMPTION AND PAYMENT
Examples for determining printing device functionality based on consumption and payment are described herein. In some examples, signals indicative of an amount of utilized print consumable by a printing device and signals indicative of payment for the amount of utilized print consumable are received at a computing device. Signals to cause the printing device to alter a functionality based on the signals indicative of an amount of utilized print consumable and the signals indicative of payment for the amount of utilized print consumable are transmitted by the computing device.
REPRINTS AND REFUNDS OF INDICIA
Systems and techniques are provided that allow for efficient and simple provision of reprint indicia, refund requests and refunds for erroneous or damaged indicia, and combinations thereof, without the technical and administrative overhead common to conventional postage systems.
SETTLEMENT APPARATUS AND SETTLEMENT METHOD INFORMING SYSTEM
According to one or more embodiments, a settlement apparatus includes a processor. The processor detects a state of the settlement apparatus related to execution of settlement processing at the settlement apparatus using a plurality of settlement methods. The processor determines, based on the detected state of the settlement apparatus, whether there is a first settlement method among the plurality of settlement methods which cannot be executed at the settlement processing apparatus. The processor then notifies a customer of settlement method information indicating the first settlement method cannot be executed at the settlement processing or that another settlement method, other than the first settlement method, can be executed at the settlement apparatus instead of the first settlement method.
LEADING EDGE DETECTION IN POS PRINTERS
A method and a printer for aligning leading edge of a printable receipt to print position of a printer is described. The printer includes a sensor placed proximal to a cutter position. The sensor generates a first signal in response to a printable receipt blocking the sensor. Upon detection of first signal from the sensor, a backward feed signal is provided to a first motor until the first signal is stopped to roll the printable receipt into a print receipt roller. Further, a forward feed signal is provided to the first motor to unroll printable receipt from the print receipt roller until a second signal is received from the sensor on blocking by the printable receipt. Upon detection of the second signal, an automatic fixed backward feed signal is provided to the first motor to align the leading edge of the printable receipt in the print position thereby avoiding wastage of printable receipt.

DISPOSABLE INFLATABLE MATTRESS AND DEVICE FOR DISPENSING SAME
Automated vending system for dispensing disposable inflatable mattresses includes a kiosk for housing a plurality of mattress packages. Each mattress package includes a disposable inflatable mattress with an inflating means. The plurality of mattress packages is positioned in a storage rack within the kiosk. The system further includes a robotic mechanism configured to engage a first mattress package from the storage rack and deliver the first mattress package to a product delivery area of the kiosk. The system furthermore includes a user interface configured for receiving a user selection of the first mattress package, and a controller configured to command the robotic mechanism to select and deliver the first mattress package to the product delivery area.
ACCOUNTING DEVICE AND CONTROL PROGRAM
An accounting device according to an embodiment includes an input device that receives an instruction to start a job. A first display device includes a first screen facing a first direction towards a person who operates the input device. A change machine includes a depositing port for receiving money and a dispensing port for dispensing money. A second display device includes a second screen facing a second direction different from the first direction and towards a person who deposits money into the depositing port or receives money from the dispensing port. When the instruction received by the input device is to start a predetermined job that is different from the accounting transaction and that includes depositing money into the change machine or dispensing money from the change machine, the processor causes information supporting execution of the predetermined job to be displayed on the second screen.
PRINTING DEVICE HOUSED WITHIN STAND OF DISPLAY
In an example, a device includes a display, a stand, and a printing device. The stand is positioned beneath and supports the display, and has a cylindrical shape. The printing device is housed within the stand and includes a spindle, a roller, a fluid ejection die, and a cutting mechanism. The spindle supports a roll of paper. The roller unrolls the paper from the roll of paper. The fluid ejection die ejects fluid onto the paper as the paper unrolls from the roll of paper. The cutting mechanism severs a portion of the paper from the roll of paper.
