The present disclosure generally relates to a method and a hardware and software system for collecting data from retail point of sale. The hardware connects to a wide variety of barcode scanners and receipt printers. Collected data is transmitted to a cloud-based infrastructure backend system using a wireless internet connection built into the hardware. The collected data can be processed to extract item-level transaction information, and estimate the price and in-stock status of items in particular shops. A search engine can be provided using this data, which allows a customer to discover which nearby shop has an item of interest in stock. A targeted advertising system that complements this search service is also presented. The data can be used by retailers and manufacturers for business analysis and optimization.

Systems for providing on-demand food service material printing for food service are provided herein. A food service material dispenser comprises a roll holder configured to hold a roll of food service material, one or more rollers, and a motor configured to operate to translate the food service material along a path within the dispenser. The dispenser includes a cutting arrangement configured to perform a cut of the food service material to form the sheet of food service material that defines a size associated with a food service order. The dispenser also includes a printer configured to print at least one of order information or personalization information on the food service material that is based on the associated food service order. The dispenser further includes a chute configured to dispense the sheet of food service material, which includes the at least one of order information or personalization information printed thereon.

Systems for providing on-demand food service material printing for food service are provided herein. A receipt printing apparatus comprises a printer including a processor and a printing unit that is capable of printing on a printing medium. A registration device is connected to the printer. The printer stores a control program that when implemented by the processor causes the printer to acquire transaction details from the registration device, to receive a selection of a first output receipt type and a second output receipt type, and to output the transaction details in the selected one of the first output receipt type and the second output receipt type.

The payment processing system generates one or more interactive digital proofs of transaction including at least details of the payment transaction and availability of a vacancy or resource at the payee location. The user may respond via the interactive receipt.
