Communication devices including an illumination source and a physical input sensor
Communication devices are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a communication device may include a communication module including an illumination source and a body element. The body element may be configured to allow illumination generated by the illumination source to propagate within and illuminate at least a portion of an outer surface of the body element.
Dual mount searchable binder
A searchable binder which is operationally compatible with a binder management system having a cabinet with shelves or a file cabinet with file drawers for removable storage of searchable binders. Each binder has a body with front and rear covers and a spine. Inside the body is a binder mechanism for removably retaining sheet media. Each binder has a pair of binder contact mechanisms mounted to the spine at opposite ends, a binder identification circuit electrically coupled to the binder contact mechanisms, and a visible indicator. Each binder contact mechanism has a base element and a sliding element. The sliding element can be manually set to a retracted position in which the sliding element is extended a first distance and an extended position in which the sliding element is extended a second greater distance. In the retracted position, the sliding elements can make contact with conductive elements of a binder cabinet when a binder is placed on a shelf. In the extended position the sliding elements can make contact with conductive support rails of a file cabinet when a binder is placed in a file drawer. When a binder identification signal from a host computer is supplied to the conductive elements or the conductive rails. It is transferred by the binder contact mechanisms to the binder identification circuit. If the signal matches an address code stored in the binder identification circuit, the LED is activated to aid the user in finding the binder.
Steering wheel light bar
The present invention is directed to a steering apparatus for a vehicle having a including a light element providing indication and warning light signals to the user of the vehicle. The light element can be associated with a PCB mounted to the steering wheel grip for controlling the operation of the light element.
Performance lighting and control method
The lighting coordinator of an information handling system may associate quantitative values of a state parameter that describes a state of operation of a component of the information handling system with lighting effects. The lighting effect associated with a quantitative value may be indicative of a range of the quantitative value. The lighting coordinator may receive a signal indicative of a quantitative value of the state parameter and may transmit control signals to generate the lighting effect associated with the quantitative value of the state parameter. The lighting coordinator may receive user input to configure the association of quantitative values of the state parameter with the lighting effects. The lighting coordinator may also represent an attribute of a character or other aspect of a video game by another lighting effect. The components may include a CPU and GPU.
Pipe Fusing Indicator Assembly
A pipe fusing indicator assembly includes a clamp that is releasably attachable to a cylinder of a pipe fusing machine. An arm is coupled to and extends away from the clamp. The arm is positionable in a first position having the arm resting against a section of pipe positioned in the pipe fusing machine such that the arm is visible to a user. The arm falls off of the section of pipe into a second position when the section of pipe is pulled through the fusing machine. In this way the arm indicate to the user that the section of pipe has been fully pulled through the pipe fusing machine. A ball is coupled to the arm such that the ball is visible to the user to facilitate the user to identify if the arm is in the first position or the second position.

Emergency Rescue Locator
An emergency rescue locator for locating persons and pets in the water is provided. The emergency rescue locator comprises a life jacket having a front side and a rear side and a locating system mounted to the life jacket. The locating system comprises an inflatable pole having a first end and a second end and an inflating mechanism in fluid communication with the first end of the pole. Upon the locating system becoming immersed in the water, the inflating mechanism instantly and automatically activates to inflate the pole causing the second end of the pole to be positioned at a point above a water surface. The locating system immediately and continuously pinpoints the persons' or pets' location until rescued.
Techniques to optimize vehicular systems for occupant presence and condition
Methods and apparatus relating to optimization of vehicular systems for occupant presence and condition are described. In one embodiment, logic circuitry detects presence and/or condition of one or more occupants of a vehicle based on sensor data. Memory (e.g., non-volatile memory) stores information corresponding to one or more functions of the vehicle. The logic circuitry transmits a request to the vehicle to cause an adjustment to the one or more functions of the vehicle. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
