Medication vending device that integrates with a medical diagnostics device

A medication vending device is provided that includes an input interface configured to receive a signal outputted by a medical diagnostics device which indicates a parameter of the patient's body, and a memory that stores a dosing schedule for medication loaded into the device. The medication vending device generates an electronic message whenever a vending event occurs. The dosing schedule is compared with the vending events, and a signal is outputted indicating when the medication is being properly vended in accordance with the dosing schedule, thereby indicating that the patient is adhering to the dosing schedule. An alert signal is generated when the patient is adhering to the dosing schedule, but the parameter is abnormal for the patient.

The present detector comprises a detection level and an electronic level. The detection level comprises at least one of a smoke detection sensor, a carbon monoxide sensor and a temperature sensor. The at least one smoke detection sensor, carbon monoxide sensor and temperature sensor generate a detected measure. The electronic level includes an alarm module, a communication module and a processor. The alarm module generates at least one of an audible alarm signal or a visual alarm signal. The communication module wirelessly communicates with a monitoring central station. The processor receives the detected measure, compares the detected measure with a predetermined threshold, actuates the alarm module when the detected measure is above the predetermined threshold and generates a message to be wirelessly communicated to the monitoring central station by the communication module, the message including the detected measure and a unique identifier of the detector.

Identifying mechanical impedance of an electromagnetic load using a two-tone stimulus

A method for identifying a mechanical impedance of an electromagnetic load may include generating a waveform signal for driving an electromagnetic load, the waveform signal comprising a first tone at a first driving frequency and a second tone at a second driving frequency. The method may also include during driving of the electromagnetic load by the waveform signal or a signal derived therefrom, receiving a current signal representative of a current associated with the electromagnetic load and a back electromotive force signal representative of a back electromotive force associated with the electromagnetic load. The method may further include determining amplitude and phase information of the current signal responsive to the first tone and second tone, determining amplitude and phase information of the back electromotive force signal responsive to the first tone and second tone, and identifying parameters of the mechanical impedance of the electromagnetic load based on the amplitude and phase information of the current signal and the amplitude and phase information of the back electromotive force signal.

A system assesses activity and displays a unitless activity value. A detector senses activity of a user. A processor reads sensed activity data from the detector. A display displays the unitless activity value. An enclosure houses the detector and the processor. The processor periodically reads the sensed activity data from the detector and processes the data to generate an activity number, the number being used to generate the unitless activity value based upon a maximum number and a display range.
