An alarm system is disclosed. The alarm system includes an enclosure; at least one sensor, the sensor is configured to communicate a signal to the enclosure; and at least one of a wireless transceiver positioned in the enclosure, the transceiver configured to receive an activation signal and transmit an alarm signal.

Tamper evident detection

Systems or methods can be used to detect evidence of tampering. The tampering can be physical tampering, such as the turning of a screw, or removal or modification of an electronic component. In some examples, a tamper detection value can be determined from a tamper detection device and compared to a predetermined tamper detection value to determine if tampering is indicated. The system can, upon detection of the tampering, halt an operation, disable device or circuit functionality, disable future operations, physically disable a device, or any combination thereof.

Active intruder mitigation system and method

A life safety system for mitigating injuries and fatalities to occupants of a multi-zone structure comprising a plurality of controllers, and coupled to said controller, a plurality of digital imaging devices, a plurality of locking mechanisms, a plurality of dispersion points for the dispersion of at least one dispersible substance, and a plurality of thermostatic members. The life safety system further comprises at least one monitoring location physically removed from at least one of said controllers and from at least one of said dispersion points and from at least one of said locking mechanisms and from at least one of said thermostatic members.

INTEGRATED MARINE BARRIER

A submergible marine barrier protecting marine installations in a protected zone against intrusion and providing a containment barrier against spread of floating spills or bodies. The body of the barrier is supported above water by a main body thus preventing intrusion and containing floating spillage. A weight in main body keeps the barrier upright, and a rigid floatation chamber in the main body keeps it afloat when full of air. A skimming pipe collects floating pollution. Flooding the floatation chambers causes the barrier to submerge allowing access to the protected zone and protecting the barrier from storms. Body, main body, and floatation chambers are made of extruded material with flotation properties (e.g. plastic pipes). Floatation chambers are connected by air hoses and have air venting tubes at their bottom. Sensors detect approaching intruders and pollution, while spikes, barbed-wire and diver-net or any known barrier are used to stop them.

Apparatuses and methods are described herein for identifying a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), including, but not limited to, determining a first maneuver type, determining a first acoustic signature of sound captured by a plurality of audio sensors while the UAV performs the first maneuver type, determining a second acoustic signature of sound captured by the plurality of audio sensors while the UAV performs a second maneuver type different from the first maneuver type, determining an acoustic signature delta based on the first acoustic signature and the second acoustic signature, and determining an identity of the UAV based on the acoustic signature delta.

Metallic conductor disturbance detection device and method

A method of detecting disturbance in a metallic conductor, comprises the steps of providing an inductance sensing circuit in mechanically and electrically connected to a metallic conductor having a monitorable inductance, tuning the inductance sensing circuit based on an electromagnetic field impressed upon the metallic conductor and an internally generated circuit oscillation, and outputting an alert signal when a tuned output signal from the tuned inductance sensing circuit becomes detuned due to a change in inductance of the metallic conductor by addition to or removal of at least a portion of the metallic conductor. A metallic conductor disturbance detection device for such a method is also provided, the device comprising an amplitude and/or frequency tunable inductance sensing circuit, and an alarm circuit for outputting an alarm signal based on an output of the inductance sensing circuit.

Methods for prompting a user to use enhanced automation system features, and systems and devices related thereto

A control panel is used to control and/or monitor an automation system. The automation system may also be used in connection with one or more enhanced services, such as a remote access service. The remote access service may allow a user to control or monitor some or all aspects of the automation system through a remote computing device. To use the remote access service, or other enhanced services, the user may register to associate the user with the control panel of the automation system. If it is determined that the user has not registered, the service provider may send a message to the control panel. The message may prompt the user to register for the enhanced service. Optionally, contact information may be requested to allow a message to be sent to a personal device of the user to facilitate registration or use of the enhanced service.

Apparatus and method for software enabled access to protected hardware resources

A semiconductor includes a set of protected hardware resources, where at least one protected hardware resource stores a secure key. The semiconductor also includes a computation kernel and a memory to store a resource enablement module executed by the computation kernel. The resource enablement module selectively enables a protected hardware resource in response to a delivered key corresponding to the secure key.

System and method for auto-configuration of devices in BIM using bluetooth low energy devices

A system that includes a building information model (BIM) defined by a set of geographic coordinates of a secured area embodied in a memory, a plurality of security devices located within the secured area where each of the plurality of security devices has a short range wireless transceiver and a portable user device having a wireless transceiver, a global positioning system (GPS) and a programmed processor that interrogates the short range wireless transceiver of each of the plurality of security devices for identification and functional information of the security device as a user of the portable user device traverses the secured area and saves the identification and functional information along with geographic coordinates of each of the plurality of security devices under the BIM into a memory.
