Systems and methods for detecting a breach of a proximity threshold associated with a first electronic device comprising a first electronic device configured to transmit a first wireless signal; and a second electronic device configured to: 1) measure a strength of the first wireless signal, 2) determine, based on the measured strength of the first wireless signal, a proximity of the second electronic device to the first electronic device, 3) instruct the first electronic device, via a second wireless signal, to subsequently transmit the first wireless signal at a predetermined interval corresponding with a proximity of the second electronic device to a proximity threshold associated with the first electronic device, and 4) measure a strength of the first wireless signal being transmitted at the predetermined interval to detect when the second electronic device breaches the proximity threshold associated with the first electronic device.

System and method for automatically disarming an intrusion detection system

A system for automatically disarming an intrusion detection system, the intrusion detection system protecting a premises and having an armed state and a disarmed state of operation, including an intrusion detection system state of operation ascertainer operable, responsive to receiving an indication of detection of an intrusion, for ascertaining whether the intrusion detection system is in the armed state; a registered mobile communicator proximity detector communicating with the intrusion detection system state of operation ascertainer and operable, responsive to ascertaining that the intrusion detection system is in the armed state of operation, for ascertaining whether at least registered mobile communicator is in a vicinity of the premises; and an automatic intrusion detection system disarmer communicating with the registered mobile communicator proximity detector and operable, responsive to the ascertaining that at least one registered mobile communicator is in the vicinity of the premises, for automatically disarming the intrusion detection system.

Processing security-related messages

Methods and systems for processing messages received from a security device are presented. In some embodiments, a server may receive one or more messages from a security console and subsequently may determine the location of the security console. The server then may identify one or more other devices that are grouped, e.g., located within a predetermined distance, with the security console. Thereafter, the server may send one or more alert messages to the identified devices.

Consumable cryopreserved cells transiently overexpressing gene(s) encoding drug transporter protein(s) and/or drug metabolizing enzyme(s)
09771409 · 2017-09-26 · ·

The present invention discloses cryopreserved recombinant cells for screening drug candidates that transiently overexpress one or more drug transporter proteins and/or drug metabolizing enzymes. Advantageously, such cells provide a cost-efficient consumable product that streamlines the process of screening whether drug candidates are substrates or inhibitors of drug transporter proteins and/or drug metabolizing enzymes.

Averting a danger

Provided are embodiments of a method for averting a danger performed by a control apparatus. The method involves a step of obtaining a plurality of pieces of sensor information. At least partially depending on the obtained pieces of sensor information, it is determined whether a danger exists. A support offer request message is transmitted if it is determined that the danger exists. At least one first support offer message is received from a first support apparatus in response to the support offer request message. At least partially depending on the received first support offer message, it is determined whether a first support measure of the first support apparatus is suitable for averting the danger. The first support measure is then prompted if it is determined that the first support measure is suitable for averting the danger.

A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system may include a visitor presence sensor and a visitor presence indicator. The visitor presence sensor may detect the presence of a visitor at a residence and communicate the presence of the visitor to the visitor presence indicator, which may audibly and/or visually alert a homeowner of the presence of the visitor at the residence.

Doorbell system and doorbell chime

A doorbell system comprises a doorbell chime (18), a first doorbell push (10) for sending a first input signal to the doorbell chime (18) in response to the first doorbell push (10) being activated, and a second device, such as a second doorbell push (14), for sending a second input signal to the doorbell chime (18). The doorbell chime (18) is arranged to emit light (24) of a first color in response to receiving the first input signal and light of a second, different, color in response to receiving the second input signal. The light (24) may be emitted around a perimeter of the doorbell chime, such that it creates a halo effect around the part of the door chime located within said perimeter.

SECURING DEVICE FOR OBJECTS
20170323536 · 2017-11-09 · ·

In a securing device for attachment of an object which is to be secured, wherein the securing device has a housing with a base plate and a lid as well as means for generating an alarm when the securing device is removed from the object without authorization, wherein the securing device is attached to the object by a double-adhesive strip having a double-adhesive first section and a non-adhesive second section. The first section has an initial adhesiveness which is lost when the strip is stretched. The second section forms a grip for stretching the double-adhesive strip. The double-adhesive strip is attached on one side to the underside of the base plate so that it is covered by the base plate and on the other side to the object. The non-adhesive second section is placed between the base plate and the lid in its closed state such the grip is only accessible only in the open state of the housing. Also disclosed is an object securing system having a housing for being secured to an object by two belts crossing each other, the housing having a base plate, a lid, a locking mechanism and an alarm triggering apparatus. The base plate can be slid between the surface of the object and the belts, so that the belts cross at the center of the base plate to hold the housing on the object. The locking mechanism when in the locked state prevents the base plate from being slid out from between the object and the belts, and an alarm is triggered when the securing device is detached from the object without authorization.
