Intrusion detector for a lorry
For various political, commercial and humanitarian reasons there is a desire to detect intrusion of stowaways into lorries and other freight vehicles. Many traditional intrusion detectors operate on the bases of detecting an increase in carbon dioxide within a space as indicator of presence of a human. A problem arises when the freight vehicle is carrying perishable goods such as fruits and vegetables which give off CO.sub.2 as they perish which makes it difficult to reliably attribute the cause of an elevation in CO.sub.2 concentration. An embodiment of the invention overcomes this problem by detecting a sudden decrease in CO.sub.2 concentration within the freight vehicle from a concentration that is much elevated from a background atmospheric concentration of around 400 ppm. This sudden decrease can be attributed to opening of a door of a trailer allowing the escape of CO.sub.2 that has built up as the freight perishes.

Monitoring system to identify unregistered persons entering premises and to secure rooms containing registered occupants
The disclosed embodiments provide an improved monitoring and security system to identify the presence of persons within a premises, to track the relative location of the person as he or she traverse the premises, and to generate an alert and optionally enter a lockdown mode if the person does not possess a pre-registered computing device or wireless transceiver. In the lockdown mode, doors optionally can be shut and locked through remote or local control or automatically if the distance between the person and the particular door falls below a predetermined threshold.
Residential Sensor Device Platform
Implementations generally relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a residential sensor device platform. In some implementations, a system includes a plurality of sensor devices. Each of the plurality of sensor devices includes a first transceiver operative to support uplink communication with a wireless router, a second transceiver operative to support mesh link communication with other sensor devices of the plurality of sensor devices, an electrical control, a sensor operative to sense a condition of a living space, and a processor. The processor is operative to communicate with the wireless router, communicate with the other sensor devices of the plurality of sensor devices, and receive the sensed condition of the living space. Processors of the plurality of sensor devices are operative to select a master sensor device, wherein the master sensor device maintains communication with the wireless router, and wherein the other sensor devices of the plurality of sensor devices form a wireless mesh network.
Interior pre-hung hinged door and pocket sliding security gate
The invention relates to a sliding security gate inside a pocket attached to an interior pre-hung hinged door. These pocket sliding security gates can be assembled inside any doorway opening of one's home for the protection of babies, toddlers, pets, and disabled elderly. On one hand, the Pre-Hung Hinged Door and Pocket Sliding Security Gate can be used as a dual functioned component that can be used in a normal setting to provide privacy; on the other hand, the Pre-Hung Hinged Door and Pocket Sliding Security Gate can be used as a half door that is assembled as a pocket sliding security gate to provide safety and security to the vulnerable population listed above. In addition, this pocket sliding security gate also has an alarm attached to the security gate so that when it opens, the alarm sounds to let the gatekeeper know that the security has been breached.
Monitoring System Control Technology Using Multiple Sensors, Cameras, Lighting Devices, and a Thermostat
Techniques are described for providing control of a monitoring system (e.g., a home alarm or security system) using one or more mobile devices. In some implementations, a native mobile device application enables use of a mobile device as a security/automation system keypad and controller for a home security system. In these implementations, the mobile device, using the native mobile device application, checks real time status of system and sensors, arms/disarms system, turns lights on/off, looks in on live video of security cameras, reviews history of system events, reviews saved video clips, monitors/changes thermostat settings, and performs other features of a traditional security keypad in a home security system.
Door lock sensor and alarm
A door lock mechanism is disclosed that includes door lock and alarm features. The mechanism includes a controller and a sensor useful to detect motions that are representative of attempted access through a door to which the door lock mechanism is attached. The controller can set an alarm condition if a measured motion, such as a measured acceleration, meet and/or exceeds a threshold. If an appropriate access control credential is provided through a user device then the alarm condition may not be set by the controller. The door lock mechanism can be coupled to a remote station via a communications link if needed, such as a radio frequency link. The remote station can additionally be in communication with the door lock mechanism via a network. The remote station can be used to send and receive messages regarding door lock mechanism status, configuration, etc.
ON-PREMISES COMMUNICATION BRIDGES FOR PREMISES SECURITY SYSTEMS
A method implemented by an on-site secondary control device in communication with an on-site primary control device for a premises security system is provided. The on-site primary control device is configured to trigger an alarm event signal associated with the premises security system, and the on-site secondary control device is physically separated from the on-site primary control device. An alarm event signal is received at the on-site secondary control device from the on-site primary control device indicating that a premises device has been triggered. The alarm event signal is temporarily stored. In response to determining that a criterion associated with the premises system is met, the alarm event signal is transmitted by the on-site secondary control device to the remote monitoring center.
System Providing Self-Service Access to Locked Merchandise
A system providing self-service access to locked merchandise comprising: (a) providing a fixture that restricts access to the locked merchandise, wherein the fixture can automatically lock or unlock, allowing or restricting access to the locked merchandise; (b) providing a means of uniquely identifying an individual attempting to access the merchandise; (c) measuring a set of behaviors of the individual during any time the fixture is an open mode; (d) assessing whether the set of behaviors of the individual are suspicious or not relative to a set of suspicious event thresholds; (e) storing the individual and their set of behaviors as accessible records in at least one database; and (f) providing an algorithm which determines future access privileges of the individual to the enclosure based on a set of variables.
Configurable alarm system component
A component 10 for use in an alarm system includes a component controller 12 and an offline configuration module 14. The offline configuration module 14 includes a passive RFID tag and is configured to receive and store an indication of at least one configuration parameter wirelessly transmitted to the configuration module. Upon initialisation of the component 10, the component controller 12 operates the component 10 in accordance with one or more protocol determined by the at least one configuration parameter indicated by the indication stored by the offline configuration module 14.
