The disclosed embodiments provide an improved monitoring and security system to identify the presence of persons within a premises, to track the relative location of the person as he or she traverse the premises, and to generate an alert and optionally enter a lockdown mode if the person does not possess a pre-registered computing device or wireless transceiver. In the lockdown mode, doors optionally can be shut and locked through remote or local control or automatically if the distance between the person and the particular door falls below a predetermined threshold.

A security system and apparatus for a home or business is provided. The security system has a sensor connected to a liquid dispenser. The sensor is triggered upon the breaking of glass or a door of a building. The liquid dispenser, when activated, dispenses a non-toxic liquid marker. The liquid dispenser sprays a mist of the liquid on the intruder so that the intruder may be easily identified.

Techniques are described for an autonomous asset management system that integrates autonomous devices, such as drone devices and other robotic devices, with a home security system of a property to enable management, monitoring, and/or tracking of various assets located within the property. In some implementations, an indication of an asset associated with a property is obtained by an autonomous device. Sensor data collected by one or more sensors of the property is obtained by the autonomous device based on the indication of the asset. A present status of the asset is determined by the autonomous device based on the sensor data. A determination that the present status of the asset does not correspond to an expected status of the asset is made by the autonomous device. In response, the autonomous device navigates to the particular location of the property.

The invention concerns a video feed monitoring app configured to be implemented with an interface and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive requests from an operator and present visual content to a display. The processor may be configured to process the requests and update the display. The video feed monitoring app may be configured to receive video streams from smart security devices, receive a priority signal, select a subset of the video streams in response to the priority signal and a user preference and arrange the subset of the video streams on the display. The priority signal may be generated externally based on events detected. The subset of the video streams may be updated based on the priority signal. Updating the subset of the video streams may comprise displaying the video streams that comprise events and removing the video streams that do not comprise events.

An intruder distraction device comprising a trigger unit and a defense unit is disclosed. A user may be able to wirelessly active the defense unit using the trigger unit. Components of the defense unit include a distractor light, a high-intensity flashbulb, a reflector, a speaker, a power switch, a wireless signal receiver, cameras, and the like. Upon receiving the trigger signal from the wireless signal transmitter, the defense unit may be activated to sequentially perform the steps of playing a gun-cocking sound via the speaker, illuminating the distractor light for around 0.5 seconds, illuminating the high-intensity flashbulb via the reflector in a high intensity mode for around 0.5 seconds, and illuminating the high-intensity flashbulb via the reflector in a low intensity mode until the defense unit is powered off by the user.

An intruder distraction device comprising a trigger unit and a defense unit is disclosed. A user may be able to wirelessly active the defense unit using the trigger unit. A vehicle includes a gateway controller configured to interface a diagnostic port to a vehicle communication network. In response to a perimeter alarm system being in an armed state, transfer of messages from the diagnostic port to the vehicle communication network is inhibited. A change session diagnostic request received from the diagnostic port is transferred to the vehicle communication network in response to vehicle speed being less than a threshold and an ignition switch begin in a run position. The transfer of the change session diagnostic request is otherwise inhibited unless intended for a module designated for reprogramming keys.
