Embodiments of the present systems and methods may provide an intelligent systems framework for analysis of user-generated content from various capture points to determine user intent. For example, a method may be implemented in a computer system comprising a processor, memory accessible by the processor, and computer program instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor, the method may comprise receiving, at the computer system, data relating to a plurality of aspects of at least one person, including data from at least one of physical or physiological sensors and communicatively connected devices, extracting, at the computer system, from the received data, features relevant to events relating to at least one person, extracting, at the computer system, at least one intent of at least one event relating to at least one person, and performing, at the computer system, an action based on the extracted at least one intent.

A component 10 for use in an alarm system includes a component controller 12 and an offline configuration module 14. The offline configuration module 14 includes a passive RFID tag and is configured to receive and store an indication of at least one configuration parameter wirelessly transmitted to the configuration module. A multi-sensory sensor comprises at least a first and a second sensor element, wherein the multi-sensory sensor is adapted for attachment to a movable structure in a building. The multi-sensory sensor is operatively associated with a controller that is configured to receive input from said first sensor element, wherein the input is indicative of a movement of the movable structure. The controller is further configured to receive input from the second sensor element, and indirectly identify a human behavioral action in the building based on a combination of the input from the first sensor element and the input from the second sensor element. It is further configured to determine a function to be taken based on the identified action, and cause the function to be taken to be executed. In one embodiment the first sensor is a movement sensor element for sensing a movement and the second sensor element is an audio sensor element for sensing audio.

Methods and systems for managing a security system are described. A security server located external to a premises may be in communication with a security system and a gateway device located at the premises. A status signal may be sent to the security server. The status signal may be initiated based on an alarm event. If the security server fails to detect a message of the status signal, the security server may send one or messages indicating the failure.
