Estimation and monitoring of patient torso angle
A person support apparatus supports a person in a laying-down or a seated position. One or more body-mounted sensors detect changes in the position of the person relative to a reference. A control system receives output from the body-mounted sensor or sensors through a remote coupling. The control system uses patient position information obtained from the body-mounted sensors to determine whether the person has experienced a change-in-position and/or a change-in-activity event. Alternatively or in addition, the position of the person situated on a person support apparatus is detected using one or more sensors that are not body-mounted, but rather are coupled to the person support apparatus or to another component of a patient support system. The patient position information is used to estimate the patient's torso angle. The estimated torso angle is used to assess the patient's condition.
Methods and systems for weighting calibration points and updating lag parameters
Disclosed are analyte monitoring systems and methods for calibrating an analyte sensor using one or more reference measurements. These systems and methods may include using a conversion function and first sensor data to calculate a first sensor analyte level, weighting a first reference analyte measurement (RM1) and one or more previous reference analyte measurements according to a weighted average cost function, updating the conversion function using the weighted RM1 and the one or more weighted previous reference analyte measurements as calibration points, and using the updated conversion function and second sensor data to calculate a second sensor analyte level. In some aspects, the systems and methods may include updating one or more of lag parameters used to calculate the sensor analyte levels.
Disembarkation action determination device, vehicle, disembarkation action determination method, and non-transitory storage medium stored with program
A disembarkation action determination device includes: an upper body movement detection section configured to detect for a first state in which an upper body of an occupant sitting on a vehicle seat has been lifted upright, based on a signal from a first sensor provided inside a vehicle cabin; a hand position detection section configured to detect for a second state in which a hand of the occupant sitting on the vehicle seat is in proximity to or contacting a door inside handle, based on a signal either from the first sensor or from a second sensor separate from the first sensor; and a disembarkation action determination section configured to determine that the occupant has initiated a disembarkation action in cases in which the first state has been detected by the upper body movement detection section and the second state has been detected by the hand position detection section.
Remote breath alcohol monitor
A portable handheld wireless breath alcohol monitoring device (RBAM) utilizes facial recognition from an enrollment image or gallery of images accumulated over time, and automatic retesting if an initial test is positive for alcohol or of an initial facial match is negative. A location fix is captured with each breath test taken by an offender. After each breath test, the breath alcohol content (BrAC), date and time of the breath test, facial image data, and location fix are uploaded through a built-in cellular phone module in the RBAM to a monitoring station. The monitoring station evaluates each breath test and determines if immediate notification to a supervising agency is needed. If so, an email, text message, or page is sent to the supervising agency. RBAM enables the monitoring of lower-risk offenders or offenders who have earned the privilege of a less intrusive alcohol testing and monitoring program.
Firefighting equipment inspection notification device
The present invention is directed to a firefighting equipment inspection notification device that includes a main body for housing a processor that is conventionally connected to an internal memory, a timer, an input/output unit, a visual indication unit, a power source and a wireless communication unit.
System and method for using alarm system zones for remote or mobile objects
An alarm system for monitoring a local premises and multiple remote objects is described. The system includes sensors in the local premises, an alarm panel connected to the sensors in the local premises, and remote objects having alarm systems in communication with the alarm panel. The remote objects are assigned a zone in the alarm panel to represent the remote object, such that an alarm condition at the remote object is reported as an alarm condition in the assigned zone.
Method of distributed discovery of vulnerabilities in applications
In one aspect, the disclosure provides: A method comprising: inviting a distributed plurality of researchers to participate in one or more computer vulnerability research projects directed to identifying computer vulnerabilities of one or more networks and/or computers that are owned or operated by a third party; assessing reputation and skills of one or more of the researchers, and accepting a subset of the researchers who have a positive reputation and sufficient skills to perform the investigations of the computer vulnerabilities; assigning a particular computer vulnerability research project, relating to a particular network under test, to a particular researcher from among the subset of the researchers; using a computer that is logically interposed between the particular researcher and the particular network under test, monitoring communications between the particular researcher and the particular network under test, wherein the communications relate to attempting to identify a candidate security vulnerability of the particular network under test; validating a report of the candidate security vulnerability of the particular network under test that is received from the particular researcher; determining and providing an award to the particular researcher in response to successfully validating the report of the candidate security vulnerability of the particular network under test that is received from the particular researcher.
