Context-Based Alerts for an Electronic Device
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system and method for providing an output for an electronic device. In certain embodiments, an alert is output in accordance with a current alert mode, which are selected based on one or more environmental conditions. The environmental conditions may be detected using one or more environmental sensors. The alert can optionally include one or more of: an audio component, a haptic component and a visual component. One or more of alert components correspond to an aspect of the environmental condition detected by the one or more environmental sensors.

Display instruments allowing display orientation adjustment
A display instrument 1 for a coxed rowing boat has a main-body 2 with a display head 3 displaying rowing-related measurements digitally at its front end, and a resilient partially-spherical extension 7 from its rear end. In the assembled instrument 1, the extension 7 is entered into an open-mouth 13 of a cup-receptacle 11 to be gripped resiliently surface-to-surface within a peripheral rim 14 of the mouth 13 so as to resists relative movement but allows manual adjustment of orientation of the main-body 2 relative to the receptacle 11 to facilitate the cox's view of the display. The receptacle 11 is entered in an aperture 16 of a dashboard 17 adjacent the cox's position 18 in the boat, and electronic circuitry of the instrument 1 is receptive of GPS signals to calculate boat and water-stream speeds for display.
Mobile hardware for automated response to distress signal
A system for facilitating automated response to a distress signal includes an attachment for a multifunction mobile computing device. In some embodiments, the attachment removably articulates to a sensor location coupled to a housing of the multifunction mobile computing device. In some embodiments, the system includes a computer program product in a non-transitory computer-readable medium. In some embodiments, the program instructions are computer-executable by the multifunction mobile computing device to implement detecting a disarticulation of the attachment from the sensor location on the multifunction mobile computing device, and, responsive to the detecting the disarticulation of the attachment from the sensor location on the multifunction mobile computing device, transmitting to a distress signal response receiver over a radio-frequency network from a radio-frequency transmitter located within a housing of the multifunction mobile computing device the distress signal.
Cooperative static and dynamic analysis of web application code for finding security vulnerabilities
Implementations of the present disclosure include methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for receiving, by a SSCA module of a server, source code data based on one or more web pages of a website, analyzing, by the SSCA module, the source code data using static analysis to provide initial results, the initial results including identifiers respectively assigned to one or more variables provided in the source code data, transmitting, by the SSCA module, a request to the website through a proxy server, the request being based on the initial results, the proxy server receiving a response and transmitting a rewritten response to a DSCA module executed on a client, receiving, by the SSCA module, updated source code data from the DSCA module, the updated source code data being provided based on the rewritten response, and updating, by the SSCA module, the initial results based on the updated source code data.
Driver monitoring system and driver monitoring method
A driver monitoring system includes an automated driving controller that allows hands-off operation in which a driver releases hands from a steering wheel of a vehicle, and controls an automated steering driving in which the vehicle is automatically steered, and a request notification controller that notifies a hands-on request for prompting the driver of the vehicle to perform a hands-on operation to hold the steering wheel, or a surrounding confirmation request for prompting the driver to perform a surrounding confirmation operation to confirm a surrounding condition. During the automated steering driving, the request notification controller is configured to notify the hands-on request or the surrounding confirmation request again when an elapsed time from notification of the hands-on request or the surrounding confirmation request exceeds a criterion time.
APPARATUS, METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR ANALYSING AUDIO ENVIRONMENTS
Examples of the disclosure relate to an apparatus comprising means for: using a radiofrequency beam having a wavelength below approximately 10mm to interrogate one or more acoustic reporters in an audio environment; analysing one or more sound signals reported by the one or more acoustic reporters to determine positions of one or more sound sources providing the one or more sound signals; and using the positions of the one or more sound sources to determine one or more sound propagation paths within the audio environment.
Method and apparatus for limiting range of motion of body
The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for warning a user about undesirable motion of a first portion of the user's body relative to a second portion of the user's body. In one representative embodiment, an apparatus for warning a user about motion of a first portion of the user's body relative to a second portion of the user's body comprises at least one sensor configured to measure the angle of the first portion of the user's body relative to a reference. The sensor is configured to be worn on the user's body, and is in communication with a controller. A warning mechanism is also in communication with the controller, and the controller is operable to activate the warning mechanism upon movement of the first portion of the user's body relative to the second portion of the user's body beyond a predetermined angle relative to the reference.
