Sound or radiation triggered locating device with activity sensor
A portable device is equipped with a signaling circuit that responds to a searching signal (e.g., hand clap, light flash, RF signal, infrared light) generated to locate the portable device when it is misplaced or lost. The device generates a location signal to enable the user to find the device. The location signal may be an audible, light, vibration, or other signal that calls attention to the device to enable the user to find it. The device may also sense events which cause it to disable the sensor, render it less sensitive, or suppress the generation of the location signal. The sensed event is any event, e.g., heat, motion, which indicates that the device is not, in fact, lost.

System for providing real time locating and gas exposure monitoring
A system and method for gas exposure monitoring of a work area are described. The system may include components that receive an alarm data item from a sensor device. The alarm data item may be generated in response to a first user being exposed to a gas concentration measured by the sensor device. A processor may receive a location of the sensor device in the work area based on a location identifier of the sensor device. A second user located within a predetermined vicinity of the sensor device may be identified. The second user may be identified by the processor. The system may transmit an indication of the alarm data item received from the first user and the location of the sensor device in the work area to the second user. The transmission may be automatic on detection of the second user's location.

TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM, BASE-STATION CONTROL DEVICE, GROUND WIRELESS BASE STATION, AND ON-VEHICLE WIRELESS STATION
A train control system controls an operation of a train by transmitting and receiving, between an on-vehicle wireless station mounted on the train and a ground wireless base station, information that includes train control information by wireless communication. General transmission information, which is information included in the information that includes the train control information and is transmitted only once from the ground wireless base station to the on-vehicle wireless station. The train control information is transmitted repeatedly a plurality of times from the ground wireless base station to the on-vehicle wireless station. Among the repeatedly transmitted train control information, the on-vehicle wireless station uses, for an operation of the train, a piece of train control information, which the on-vehicle wireless station receives without lack of data lack for a first time.
Vehicle wheel anti-theft system and method
Embodiments include a vehicle comprising a plurality of wheels, each wheel including a pressure sensor and a wireless transceiver; a central transceiver configured to obtain tire pressure and signal strength information from each of the wireless transceivers; and a processor communicatively coupled to the central transceiver and configured to detect removal of one of the wheels based on the signal strength information obtained from the wireless transceiver included in the removed wheel. Other embodiments include a method comprising obtaining tire pressure and signal strength information from each of a plurality of wireless transceivers respectively coupled to a plurality of wheels included in a vehicle; and detecting, using one or more processors, removal of one of the wheels from the vehicle based on the signal strength information obtained from the wireless transceiver included in the removed wheel.
Pedal apparatus with actuator configured to apply variable pressures
In one example aspect, a pedal apparatus is disclosed. The pedal apparatus may include a first portion. The first portion may be configured to secure a second portion that may be attached to a footwear. The first portion may be different than the second portion. The pedal apparatus may also include at least one actuator that may be configured to apply one or more variable pressures on the second portion, which may be based one or more movements of the first portion.
