METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO TRAIN A USER TO REPRODUCE A REFERENCE MOTION PATTERNS WITH A HAPTIC SENSOR SYSTEM

A system, method and computer program product to train a user to reproduce a reference motion with a haptic feedback system having one or more sensors. The method includes receiving a user-selection of a reference motion pattern, selected from a plurality of motion patterns each of which is machine-interpretable as a time-ordered sequence of reference datasets. The sequence corresponds to a respective reference motion. The method includes capturing a user motion of a user attempting to reproduce the reference motion corresponding to the selected, reference motion pattern. This is accomplished by sampling, via the haptic feedback system, sensor values obtained from the one or more sensors, to obtain appraisal datasets that are representative of the captured user motion. A real-time haptic feedback is provided to the user while capturing the user motion based on comparisons between the appraisal datasets obtained and the reference datasets of the selected, reference motion pattern.

Training pen for writing

A training pen for writing has a housing, a pen cap releasably attached to the housing, a retractable ink cartridge with a writing tip extending within an inner cavity of the housing and the cap, and three flexible, arcuate tabs extending from a lower end of the housing. The cap has six sides with side openings defined in alternating sides of the cap and a lower aperture defined at a lower end of the cap. The tabs extend through the side openings when not in use. A user can push the writing tip through the lower aperture by simultaneously depressing all of the tabs into grooves defined within the surface of the cap. Release of the tabs repositions the writing tip within the cap. Use of the pen can train a user io to properly grasp a writing utensil.

Method for facilitating handwriting practice and electronic device for implementing the method

A method for facilitating handwriting practice includes: generating handwriting strokes in response to user input of user-writing strokes; generating an input image that includes the handwriting strokes, and that has a shape similar to a shape of a standard image associated with a standard word character; scaling the input image to generate a scaled image with a size that is the same as a size the standard image; overlapping the standard image and the scaled image; comparing an n.sup.th handwriting stroke in the scaled image with an n.sup.th standard stroke in a standard order of the standard word character; and when the n.sup.th handwriting stroke does not correspond in position to the n.sup.th standard stroke, displaying a notification of a stroke order error.

ELECTRONIC DRAWING BOARD, REMOTE TEACHING DRAWING BOARD, DRAWING SIMULATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
