INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, PROJECTION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
20230379442 · 2023-11-23 ·

An information processing apparatus acquires a first image of a first medium including a first region in which a character is written. The information processing apparatus projects the first image onto a predetermined position of a second medium. The information processing apparatus acquires a second image of the second medium including a second region in which a line of a different color from the character depicted in the projected first image is drawn. The information processing apparatus corrects color data of an overlapping region in which the first region and the second region overlap in the second image. The information processing apparatus projects the corrected second image onto the first medium so that the position of the character matches.

Using biometric data intelligence for education management

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for developing cognitive and behavioral metrics associated with a user. In some implementations, a system obtains data from a writing implement, the data indicative of a user performing a task by writing with the writing implement against a receiving device. The system extracts features from the obtained data. The system determines metrics that reflect characteristics of the user, the metrics that reflect cognitive characteristics of the user and metrics that reflect behavioral characteristics of the user. Based on the extracted features and the determined metrics, the system generates a user profile for the user. Based on the features indicating characteristics of the writing behavior of the user, the system modifies the generated user profile as a performance of the user changes over time. The system provides recommendations to improve the performance of the user.

The present invention describes devices and methods for assisting in the education of individuals, particularly the education of children. The present invention brings provides technological interventions with information about the child's eye-gaze location, gesture activity, emotional expression or other inputs. The disclosure further seeks to enhance learning by mimicking, for example, the parent's output of activities of physical gesture and of directed eye gaze or joint attention to enhance the child's learning experience. The present invention includes responds to input, either from the user, other indivduals, or information stored in memory. The present invention then processes, via a processor and associated memory, the inputs according to one or more computer program modules. Based on the input and computer program module(s), the present invention then processes an output, of various forms, to the user.

Systems and methods for automated real-time selection and display of guidance elements in computer implemented sketch training environments

In a computer implemented sketch-based education or training system, guidance elements are generated and output to users both on an affirmative request of the user and in an automated manner without a request for guidance from the user. Automated guidance may take the form of a mini-hint that does not provide explicit information about a solution. The automatically provided guidance elements may contain numerical measures of correspondence between a user submitted sketch and a model sketch.

System and Method for Teaching a Student How to Read using a Vowel Priming Method
20210398444 · 2021-12-23 ·

A system and method for teaching a student how to read using a vowel priming method is described. The method can comprise the step of displaying to a student a vowel grapheme of a set of graphemes while remaining graphemes of the set of graphemes are hidden. The set of graphemes can be arranged such that when completely unhidden together can graphically construct a word. Each grapheme encodes a phoneme. The phoneme associated with the set of graphemes can together be a set of phonemes that construct the word. The method can also comprise the steps of pausing to allow the student to determine the phoneme associated with the vowel grapheme, revealing the remaining graphemes in one or more subsets of graphemes, and pausing after each revelation to allow the student to determine one or more of the phonemes associated with the subset of graphemes revealed in the revelation.

System and Method for Teaching a Student How to Read using a Phonetic Word Distinction Technique
20210398445 · 2021-12-23 ·

A system and method for teaching a student how to read using a phonetic word distinction technique is herein disclosed. The method can comprise the step of providing to a student a set of charted grapheme-phoneme pairs, presenting to the student words in a story in order of the story. Each of the word being a phonetic word if all grapheme-phoneme pairs between a spoken word of the word and a conventional spelling of the word each match at least one charted grapheme-phoneme pair within the set of charted grapheme-phoneme pairs, and a non-phonetic word if not. The words in the story can be presented as follows, for each of the phonetic word, displaying a first subset of graphemes of a set of graphemes while remaining graphemes of the set of graphemes are hidden, while for each of the non-phonetic word, displaying all letters of the non-phonetic word contemporaneously.
