System and Method for Teaching a Student How to Write using a Phonetic Word Distinction Technique
A system and method for teaching a student how to write using a phonetic word distinction technique is herein disclosed. The method can comprise the step of providing to a student a set of charted grapheme-phoneme pairs, communicating to a student each word in a story in order of the story, in any manner other than a written form of the word, prompting the student to encode a phoneme of the set of phonemes with a grapheme, receiving first selections of the graphemes to form a set of graphemes in the order, and displaying in the order the graphemes associated with the first selections. Each word is a phonetic word if all grapheme-phoneme pairs between the spoken word of the word and a conventional spelling of the word each match at least one charted grapheme-phoneme pair within the set of charted grapheme-phoneme pairs, and a non-phonetic word if not.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING DRAWING ENVIRONMENT
An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention includes: a touch screen display; a processor operatively connected to the display; and a memory operatively connected to the processor. The memory may include instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to: display, on the display, a user interface including a first section configured to receive a drawing input and a second section including a plurality of colors and one or more line widths, which are to be selected for the drawing input; execute an animation image file to be displayed on the first section, the animation image file including a procedure of drawing an object with at least one color among the plurality of colors and at least one line width among the one or more line widths; receive, from the display, an input for stopping the execution of the image file; and display a drawing output on the display according to the drawing input, the drawing output including at least one among the color and the line width used when the drawing input is received. Various other embodiments are also possible.
Writing implement
A writing implement, including a pen tube, a guiding element, a motion sensor, and a controller. An end portion of the pen tube is provided with a nib. The guiding element and the motion sensor are disposed on the pen tube, and the guiding element is controlled by the controller. In the process of writing, the motion sensor detects words and pencraft characteristics when a user holds the pen tube for writing, and the controller controls the guiding element to generate a guiding force to guide the words and pencraft characteristics when writing, to approach or be equal to words and pencraft characteristics prepared to be written. Therefore, the present invention may train a user to copy the handwriting of a master or actively guide the user to wield the pen by means of the writing implement.

DIGITAL PEN WITH ENHANCED EDUCATIONAL AND THERAPEUTIC FEEDBACK
Disclosed is a digital pen that tracks the user's writing and provides useful feedback based on the user's writing. In one embodiment, the pen may provide feedback when the user has written a misspelled word, invalid mathematical expression, or any noncompliant expression. The pen may also provide feedback relating to the user's handwriting. The feedback may be visual, auditory, or tactile, and may be realtime or delayed. Statistics relating to the user's performance may be tracked, uploaded to external devices, and shared with others. This allows the user and interested parties to track the user's progress over time. The disclosed pen will be useful in educational settings.

SURFACES WITH EMBEDDED INFORMATION
A surface including: a plurality of visually detectable marks, wherein the visually detectable marks include: a first group of grid marks forming a grid and a second group of information marks encoding information based on positions of information marks of the second group of marks relative to the data page, wherein grid marks are less than 45% of the visually detectable marks on the surface.
Penmanship device to assist students with dyslexia
A penmanship device is provided to assist students learning to write consistently and evenly. The device comprises a body with a handle portion and an operational portion. The operational portion has at least two windows. A first window is used for alignment and a second window is used to write. A user writes a first letter of a first word within the confines of the second window. To write the next letter, the device is shifted so that an edge of the previous letter is aligned with a left lateral edge of the second window. This is repeated until the word is completed. To write the next word, the device is shifted so that an edge of a last letter of the previous word is aligned with a right lateral edge of the first window. In another embodiment, the device has three windows providing left-handed and right-handed support.
