DEEP READING MACHINE AND METHOD
20170351664 · 2017-12-07 ·

A deep reading machine and method are disclosed in which a written language document may be transformed into a computer delivered kinetic framework of four dimensional rendered language. By removing the constraints of normal language reading, the machine and method create a watching, journey experience of gathering language in a multi-dimensional format. Using the machine and method, a reader comprehends language in an interactive, immersive and perceptually enjoyable reading experience.

LETTER MANIPULATIVE IDENTIFICATION BOARD

A set of letter manipulatives and a board on which said letter manipulatives may be placed, where the board comprises an identification module that can identify the letter manipulatives placed on the board and communicate the identification to a computing device.

Pointer Reading Tool
20230177975 · 2023-06-08 ·

Pointer reading tool (20) to read a plurality of words by saccading between a plurality of individual pointers enabling any person to learn and train to read using person eye peripheral vision when reading. Having vertical rigid member (5) with horizontal rigid member (22, 23) extended to the width of a line of text on a page or screen (FIGS. 1H and 1I). Plurality pointer member (11, 7, 6, 9, 13) are vertical from horizontal rigid member (22, 23) in reading mode (FIG. 1A). By reducing saccades, improving person eye peripheral vision to read in groups of words, a reader can read at a better pace with improved focus and better concentration whilst reducing stress, strain and fatigue of the eye when reading.

Interactive Multisensory Learning Process and Tutorial Device
20170330479 · 2017-11-16 · ·

Disclosed is a computer-based multisensory tutorial that collects vocal data and tactile input data from a user related to a target presented by a GUI, the target comprising a phoneme, grapheme, letter, word; determines if the collected data exceeds or fails to meet a threshold value associated with the target; and provides a correction prompt visible or audible to a user if the input does not meet the threshold. A typical user of the tutorial may be a student (child or adult) in an educational setting, but use is not intended to be limited thereto. The multisensory tutorial may be configured for a plurality of languages. A multisensory tutorial configured device comprises one or more tutorial software modules, a GUI lesson screen, and a plurality of integrated lessons based on an Ortin-Gillingham plus program (for example one chosen between lessons 20 and 50), but is not limited thereto.

TEXTUAL ADJUSTMENT TO A TARGET READING LEVEL
20230169268 · 2023-06-01 ·

The technology described herein helps a student learn how to read by providing text at a reading level suitable for learning. The technology described herein can take an input text and adjust the reading level to match the target reading level. The text can be adjusted through word substitution. Prior to outputting the complexified text, a grammar check can determine that the substitution did not generate a grammatically incorrect complexified text.

SYSTEM AND METHOD TO VISUALIZE CONNECTED LANGUAGE
20170309200 · 2017-10-26 ·

Systems and methods for visualizing connected speech are disclosed. The systems and methods include receiving reading content as vocalized speech; analyzing the vocalizations to determine the nature and duration of the vocalized breath strings of a text when read aloud; and generating highlighting for beginning and end points to be the visual content based on the nature and duration of the vocalized, breath strings.

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA STORY CREATION APPLICATION
20170337841 · 2017-11-23 ·

A software application for teaching literacy through customized stories with gamification elements. Existing or new stories are created and customized for particular audiences and include text, animations, images, and sounds to produce an interactive multimedia story for presentation on a computing device with a display and audio output. Reading comprehension questions and games are provided to accompany the stories and the reader of the stories can earn rewards based on performance. The reader's performance is analyzed and reported to track progress.

System and method for evaluating reading fluency using underlining
09786195 · 2017-10-10 ·

A system of evaluating reading fluency by monitoring the underlining of text as it is being read on a tablet or other computing device. The text or passage is presented on the screen of the tablet computing device with a touchscreen, such as, but not limited to, an iPad. The reader uses a stylus, finger, or other device to underline each word as it is read, and may go back and re-underline any words to regress within the passage. Alternatively, a mouse can be used to indicate words as they are read. Computer software tracks the reader's underlining, providing detailed information about reading rate, pauses, regressions, and other word and word combination features.

FILTERS AND RELATED METHODS OF USE IN MEASURING REACTION TIMES
20170243507 · 2017-08-24 ·

A system for filtering results from tests that include reaction time as part of the test results includes an input device that receives respondent input in response to queries. A task engine is associated with the input device and the task engine presents the queries and receives the respondent's input to the queries, and associates a reaction input time for each of the respondent's inputs. A results database receives the respondent's input and the associated reaction input time. At least one filter is associated with the task engine which compensates for artifacts that adversely affect the associated reaction input time.

System and method for recognizing objects placed together using sensors
09737802 · 2017-08-22 ·

The present invention discloses a system and method for recognizing objects placed together using capacitance sensors in conjunction with the RFID technology. A structure that is made with a material of high dielectric constant and a RFID tag that comprises a unique identification code (UID) of an object is embedded with the object. With the objects recognized, the spatial structure or the spatial distribution formed by them is derived and corresponding sensory feedbacks are provided by the system.
