Reflective video display apparatus for interactive training and demonstration and methods of using same
A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.

The experiments involve recording the completion of a task by participants and then playing back the video of task completion to automatically probe participants about their affective, behavioral, and cognitive experiences. As a result of this system, information about affective, behavioral, and cognitive processes can be more easily investigated by researchers without computer programming knowledge. A parameterized sensory system uses interactions with a graphical user interface to reduce a disturbance level associated with information particular to a user. Parameters indicative of a reminder phrase related to the information and an initial rating for the disturbance level are received. The graphical user interface is operated. Input indicative of interaction with the graphical element during the operation of the graphical user interface is received. Another parameter indicative of a new rating for the disturbance level is received thereafter. The user interaction causes a reduction to the disturbance level such that the new rating is lower than the initial rating. The user interaction is without active processing by the user as to the reminder phrase or the information such that the cause of the reduction to the disturbance level is related to the user interaction with the input interface without the active processing.
Parameterized sensory system
A parameterized sensory system uses interactions with a graphical user interface to reduce a disturbance level associated with information particular to a user. Parameters indicative of a reminder phrase related to the information and an initial rating for the disturbance level are received. The graphical user interface is operated. Input indicative of interaction with the graphical element during the operation of the graphical user interface is received. Another parameter indicative of a new rating for the disturbance level is received thereafter. The user interaction causes a reduction to the disturbance level such that the new rating is lower than the initial rating. The user interaction is without active processing by the user as to the reminder phrase or the information such that the cause of the reduction to the disturbance level is related to the user interaction with the input interface without the active processing.

A method of treatment for intellectual and developmental disabilities is disclosed herein, wherein the method includes the steps of diagnosing an intellectual or developmental disability in an individual, matching symptoms or characteristics associated with the individual's intellectual or developmental disability, researching what personality traits, interpersonal skills, or life skills are affected by the symptoms or characteristics, providing the individual with a list of topics related to the personality traits, interpersonal skills, or life skills are affected by the symptoms or characteristics, selecting a topic related to the personality traits, interpersonal skills, or life skills are affected by the symptoms or characteristics, assisting the individual in preparing a presentation on the selected topic, preparing the presentation, wherein the presentation is between ten minutes and ninety minutes in length, recording the presentation, and broadcasting the presentation.
