SPEECH RECOGNITION SYSTEM FOR TEACHING ASSISTANCE
The present invention provides a speech recognition system for teaching assistance, which provides caption service for the hearing impaired. This system includes a speaker and a automatic speech recognition (ASR) classroom server, a listener-typist and a computer, a hearing impaired and a live screen, all are in the same classroom. Connect the ASR classroom server, the computer and the live screen with a local area network. The speaker's audio is sent to the ASR classroom server by a microphone for being converted into text caption, and then the text caption is sent to the live screen of the hearing impaired together with the speaker's audio so that the hearing impaired can read the text caption spoken by the speaker. The text caption can be corrected by the listener-typist to make it completely correct.
Systems for Generating Accessible Color Themes
In implementations of systems for generating accessible color themes, a computing device implements an accessibility system to receive an input color palette including original colors defined in a color space. The accessibility system generates color vision deficiency simulations that correspond to pairs of the original colors and computes perceptual color differences between the color vision deficiency simulations. Candidate colors are determined for corresponding original colors based at least partially on the perceptual color differences and a conflicting perceptual color difference. The accessibility system outputs an output color palette including replacement colors defined in the color space that are generated at least partially based on distances between the candidate colors and the corresponding original colors computed in a CIELAB color space.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EVALUATING AUTOMATED FEEDBACK FOR GESTURE-BASED LEARNING
A system examines components of gestures of a gesture-based language for evaluating proper execution of the gesture, and also examines components of new gestures for evaluating lexical similarity with existing gestures of similar meaning or theme.
BRAILLE PLATE FOR ELEVATOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
This invention discloses a braille plate for an elevator. The braille plate comprises a plurality of substrates, and a plurality of bump structures. In present invention, each substrate is formed on a body via crosslinking agent, and each of the bump structures is formed by at least one main layer. Furthermore, the body is an elevator decorative plate.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND MEDIA FOR PROVIDING ENVIRONMENT INFORMATION TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSONS
Mechanisms for providing environment information to a visually impaired person (VIP) are provided, the mechanisms including: receiving information relating to a direction from a VIP when in an environment using at least one hardware processor; identifying at least one object in the direction from the VIP when in the environment; and providing environment information regarding at least one object to the VIP. In some of these embodiments, the environment is a virtual environment. In some of these embodiments, the information relating to the direction is a bearing relative to a reference from the VIP. In some of these embodiments, the information is image data. In some of these embodiments, the method further comprises: determining that the direction has changed; and stopping providing the environment information in response to determining that the direction has changed.
Intelligent directing system in an internet of things (IoT) computing environment
Embodiments for an intelligent directing service in an Internet of Things (IoT) computing environment by a processor. One or more objects may be identified within a defined region relative to an entity. At least a portion of an extremity of the entity may be directed to select or avoid the one or more objects according to one or more internet of things (IoT) devices.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is provided an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program that make it possible to assist deaf and hard-of-hearing people in viewing a video when the video is being played back. The information processing apparatus includes a controller. The controller generates at least one of an oscillation signal corresponding to sound-effect caption data or an oscillation signal corresponding to vocalization caption data on the basis of a waveform of sound data using a result of analyzing caption information and sound information that are included in a video file, the sound-effect caption data being used to represent a sound effect in the form of text information, the vocalization caption data being used to represent a vocalization of a person in the form of text information, the sound-effect caption data and the vocalization caption data being included in caption data that is included in the caption information, the sound data being included in the sound information.
ORIENTATION ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
An orientation assistance system comprises acquisition means for acquiring a real or virtual visual environment, non-visual human/machine interface means, and processing means for processing the digital representation of the visual environment to provide an electrical control signal for controlling a non-visual interface. The human/machine interface means comprise a bracelet having a haptic region with a surface area of between 60×60 millimeters and 150×150 millimeters, with a set of N×M active spikes, where N is between 5 and 100 and M is between 10 and 100. The processing means for processing the digital representation is configured to periodically extract at least one pulsed digital activation pattern of a subset of the spikes of the haptic region.
Apparatus for assisting the mobility of visually impaired people in road traffic
The apparatus comprises a wireless communication device which is to be carried by the person and has a GPS receiver, a blind guiding device with an acoustic source, a position memory, a second GPS receiver and a comparator for comparison of the position data of the GPS receivers. The communication device continuously sends attention information and, upon receipt of the attention information, the blind guiding device switches on pedestrian orientation signals, an optical release signal and acoustic release signals and/or changes their volume.
Walking support system
When it is determined that a presence of a traffic light is not recognized in an image acquired by a first image acquisition operation by a camera, the presence of the traffic light is recognized in an image acquired by a second image acquisition operation in which a recognition accuracy of the presence of the traffic light is improved. In this second image acquisition operation, it is assumed that a pedestrian is stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing, and there is little demand for increasing a detection speed of objects such as moving objects present in a surrounding area. Thus, it is possible to sufficiently obtain the recognition accuracy of the traffic light by the second image acquisition operation that gives priority to the recognition accuracy of the presence of the traffic light.
