An object of the present technology is to provide a haptic-feedback presenting apparatus, a haptic-feedback presenting system, and a haptic-feedback presenting method capable of presenting information mapped in space without vision and audition. A haptic-feedback presenting apparatus according to the present technology includes a mapping-information acquisition part, a region detection part, and a haptic-feedback arithmetic part. The mapping-information acquisition part acquires mapping information that is information mapped in space. The region detection part sets a detection-target region, and determines whether or not the mapping information included in the detection-target region satisfies a condition, such as being a threshold or more. The haptic-feedback arithmetic part calculates a haptic feedback to be presented to a user on the basis of a determination result from the region detection part.

Alignment of standard-definition and high-defintion maps

Aspects of the disclosed invention relate to alignment of standard definition (SD) maps and high definition (HD maps) which may come from different sources. Responsive to input of a destination, a route to that destination may be defined, and SD map waypoints generated from that defined route. A graph may be generated from the HD map. The waypoints may be matched with nodes and edges in the graph. One or more edges may constitute a segment in the HD map. A plurality of segments are identified to match the route.

An information processing apparatus 1 includes a message display module 142 which, when a predetermined event is predicted to occur at a set location of interest, displays a message indicating occurrence of the predetermined event and the time until the occurrence of the predetermined event. The location of interest may be set to a current position of the information processing apparatus 1. The information processing apparatus 1 may also include a map display module 141 that displays a map including the location of interest, wherein the message displaying module 142 displays the message in such a manner as to be superimposed on the map.

Information-processing device, information-processing method, and program

An information-processing device of the present invention includes an acquisition unit that acquires sensor detection information indicating a detection result from a sensor mounted in a vehicle, a derivation unit that derives a plurality of indices for a surrounding environment based on the sensor detection information acquired by the acquisition unit, and an evaluation unit that evaluates attribute information of a point at which the sensor detection information is acquired based on the plurality of indices derived by the derivation unit.

Integrating Maps and Street Views

Methods and systems for improved integration of an overhead representation (e.g., a map) with a street view representation. A user interface with at least two regions is output for display to a user. One region includes an overhead representation of an area and an interactive control overlaid onto the overhead representation. Another region includes a street view perspective that has a point of view corresponding to a position and directional orientation of the interactive control. Information about a user input that adjusts the interactive control is received and the street view perspective is updated to track the control as it is adjusted. The field of view of the street view perspective may be reflected in the appearance of the interactive control. Additionally, the street view perspective may follow the location of a marker as it is moved around the overhead representation.

A route evaluation part of a route guidance system stores, in a case where a route that does not match with a priority condition among multiple presented routes is selected, a distance-difference between a distance of the route that matches with the priority condition and a distance of the selected route as weight information of the priority condition. In addition, the route evaluation part presents, upon presenting a route at the next and subsequent timings, a route in a mode where the route that does not match with the priority condition is recommended rather than the route that matches with the priority condition in a case where the distance-difference between the distance of the route that matches with the priority condition and the distance of the route that does not match with the priority condition exceeds a distance stored as the weight information.

Map data generating apparatus, terminal apparatus, and map data generating method

It is an object of the present invention to provide a technique capable of reducing a difference between a three-dimensional shape represented by map data, using approximation, and a real three-dimensional shape. A map data generating apparatus is a map data generating apparatus capable of generating map data representing a three-dimensional shape, using approximation, the map data generating apparatus including: an acquisition part that acquires a shape point sequence indicating the three-dimensional shape, and a control part that generates an arc passing three object points, based on the three object points in the shape point sequence acquired by the acquisition part, and determines whether an approximation division point that should not be approximated in the three-dimensional shape is included in the three object points, based on the arc.
