IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to an image display device and an operation method therefor. An image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a housing, a roller disposed inside the housing, and a plurality of pixels. The image display device includes: a display panel that can be wound on or unwound from the roller; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the roller so that the display panel rolls up or rolls down. The control unit can check the temperature of the display panel, and apply a main signal to at least one of the plurality of pixels according to the temperature of the display panel when the temperature of the display panel is less than a reference temperature, and control the operation of the roller when the temperature of the display panel is the reference temperature or higher. Various other embodiments are also possible.

A display substrate, a method of manufacturing the display substrate, and a display device are provided. The display substrate includes: a base substrate, a plurality of sub-pixels, a gate driving circuit, a plurality of input contact pads, a plurality of output contact pads and a contact pad insulating layer. Surfaces of the input contact pads away from the base substrate and surfaces of the output contact pads away from the base substrate are exposed from the contact pad insulating layer. The contact pad insulating layer includes a first portion having a first thickness and a second portion having a second thickness smaller than the first thickness. Edges of the input contact pads and edges of the output contact pads are covered by the first portion. The second portion is located in the region between the input contact pads and the output contact pads.

A display device includes: a display panel including a display area including pixels and a non-display area including a dummy pixel; a scan driver which supplies a scan signal to the display panel; a data driver which supplies a data signal to the display panel; and a timing controller which supplies a first control signal for controlling the scan driver and a second control signal for controlling the data driver. The dummy pixel is connected to a bad pixel among the pixels in the display area through a repair line, and a connection of the dummy pixel to the repair line is cut off in an initialization phase in which a voltage of an initialization power source is supplied.

In one embodiment, a method for managing visual uniformity in a foldable display includes identifying a hinge angle of the foldable display, the hinge angle indicating a degree to which the foldable display is opened or closed; receiving surface curvature data from a plurality of sensors of the foldable display, the surface curvature data indicating a mechanical state of a surface of the foldable display; accessing a plurality of surface maps stored in a display database of the foldable display, each of the plurality of surface maps indicating one or more display settings associated with a respective mechanical state of the surface of the foldable display; retrieving the one or more display settings from the display database based on the hinge angle and the surface curvature data; and causing a plurality of pixels to illuminate using the one or more display settings.
