System and method for presenting data at variable quality
A method of presenting visual information on a screen (306) involves defining a boundary (314) delineating a first region of the screen (which may be towards a centre of the screen) from a second region of the screen (which may be towards a periphery of the screen), displaying a first portion of the visual information in the first region of the screen at a first display quality, and displaying a second portion of the visual information in the second region of the screen at a second, lower, display quality. The method further involves blurring the visual information for display in at least a portion of the second region. The location of the boundary (314) may change over time, and may be based on where a user is looking, or is expected to be looking, or on the type of information being displayed or based on other parameters.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A display device and a method of controlling the same are provided. The display device may include: a communicator comprising communication circuitry configured to receive a wireless signal transmitted by a wireless router, a memory configured to store one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor may be configured to continuously retrieve multipath channel characteristic data based on the wireless signal, perform preprocessing on the retrieved multipath channel characteristic data of the wireless signal, determine representative values for each reference time by calculating a similarity for each time period of result data corresponding to a result of the preprocessing, determine a motion within a specified region of the display device, based on a change in the representative values over time, and control the display device based on the determined motion within the specified region of the display device.
Rotating display
A rotating display, for creating a three-dimensional image, that includes a display panel configured to rotate about an axis and comprising a plurality of groups of light emitting elements, with each element being individually controllable and configured to display a plurality of pixels of the image, a processor to receive pixel data for the display panel and divide the data into a plurality of pixel data lines, each line comprising pixel data for only one of the groups of light emitting elements, a buffer to receive one or more of the data lines, for each group of light emitting elements, and a demultiplexer configured to receive a pixel data line and provide pixel data to each light emitting element according to a refresh rate of the display panel. The display panel is configured to rotate about the axis at a rate commensurate with the refresh rate of the display panel.
Display driver and operating method thereof
An display driver and an operating method of the display driver are provided. The display driver includes a receiver comprising a bias current control circuit. The receiver receives image data. The bias current control circuit computes a data bit rate of the image data, and adjusting a bias current of the receiver according to the data bit rate. The operating method is adapted to the display driver.
TRANSMISSION TERMINAL, TRANSMISSION METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM STORING TRANSMISSION PROGRAM
A transmission terminal transmits video data and display data of a screen shared with another transmission terminal to the other transmission terminal via a predetermined relay apparatus. The transmission terminal includes a storage unit that stores relay apparatus information of the relay apparatus to which the transmission terminal transmits the video data; a receive unit that receives the display data from an external input apparatus connected to the transmission terminal; and a transmitting unit that transmits the display data received by the receive unit to the relay apparatus indicated by the relay apparatus information stored in the storage unit.
Optimizing window resize actions for remoted applications
Techniques for optimizing window resize actions for a remoted application are provided, where the remoted application has a server-side window running within a remote desktop of a server system, and where the server-side window is made accessible to a user of a client system as a client-side window displayed in a client desktop of the client system. In one embodiment, the client system can receive from the server system a notification that the server-side window is being resized in the remote desktop, and can determine that the user is currently entering one or more input commands for resizing the server-side window. In response, the client system can send a message to the server system for canceling the resizing of the server-side window. The client system can then allow the user to resize the client-side window via the one or more input commands, while the server-side window remains a fixed size.
Systems and methods for mapping an orchestrated digital display system
A system and associated method for mapping an orchestration of multiple digital display devices to display a digital content item across the multiple digital display devices, including multiple digital display devices, a user device, and a cloud-based computing system, where the cloud-based computing system is configured to perform a machine learning operation to identify a calibration pattern associated with each digital display device and determine a position of each digital display device, and where, upon selection of a digital content item on the user device by a user, the multiple digital display devices are configured to receive data representing the digital content item and display a synchronized display representing the digital content item, the synchronized display being a continuous display that accounts for space between multiple digital display devices and only displays portions of the continuous display at locations where a digital display device is positioned.
GAMMA LOOKUP TABLE COMPRESSION
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for gamma lookup table compression. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining a gamma value for a pixel of an image to be shown on a display, determining a base gamma value based on a base lookup table that corresponds to a base display condition, determining a delta gamma value based on a delta lookup table that corresponds to a current display condition for the pixel, determining a remapped gamma value for the pixel based on a combination of the base gamma value and the delta gamma value, and providing the remapped gamma value to be shown on the display.
Method and apparatus for signaling user interactions on overlay and grouping overlays to background for omnidirectional content
A method, apparatus and computer program product describing groups of overlays, such as semantically correlated overlays, to background media content. In the context of a method, a group of overlays to background media content is defined by metadata (60). The overlays include semantically correlated overlays having alternative overlays representing content with different levels of detail or overlays providing different choices of content. The method also includes receiving client selection of a respective overlay from a group of overlays (62). In response to the client selection, the method causes the respective overlay to be provided. The respective overlay is received (64) for presentation concurrent with background media content (68).
IMAGE DATA TRANSFER APPARATUS, IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM, AND IMAGE TRANSFER METHOD
In a server, an image generation section stores a generated image in a frame buffer. A compression/encoding section compresses and encodes image data in units of partial images smaller than one frame. A processing order control section, on the basis of information pertaining to a scan order for a display panel connected to an image processing apparatus which is a data transmission destination, controls an order of reading out pixel data from the frame buffer, a shape of a partial image, or a compression and encoding order. The compressed and encoded partial image data is packetized by a packetization section and transmitted to the image processing apparatus by a communication section.
