20220330912 · 2022-10-20 ·

An aspect of the present invention provides a method for analyzing a breathing-related sound, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a sound signal obtained while a recording device is in contact with a body; filtering noises at least including a signal related to a heart sound from the sound signal; decomposing the filtered sound signal into a plurality of base signals based on empirical mode decomposition, wherein a first base signal has different frequencies from a second base signal; determining a base signal associated with a lung sound from the plurality of base signals; and obtaining lung-related information using a sound analysis model and the determined base signal.

USING A HEARABLE TO GENERATE A USER HEALTH INDICATOR BASED ON USER TEMPERATURE

A hearable comprises a wearable structure including a speaker, a sensor, and a temperature compensating circuit which measures temperature in an environment of the sensor. A portion of the wearable structure, which includes the sensor and temperature compensating circuit, is disposed within a user’s ear when in use. A sensor processing unit which is communicatively coupled with the temperature compensating circuit: acquires temperature data from the temperature compensating circuit while the portion of the wearable structure is disposed within the ear of the user; builds a baseline model of normal temperature for the user; and compares a temperature measurement acquired from the temperature compensating circuit to the baseline model. In response to the comparison showing a deviation beyond a preset threshold from the baseline model, the sensor processing unit generates a health indicator for the user which is used to monitor an aspect of health of the user.

Method and system for measuring a central pulse wave velocity in a pregnant woman

The present invention relates to a method and system for determining a central pulse wave velocity in a pregnant woman. The method comprises receiving an indication of a measurement of a length of a human aortic path outside the body to provide an aortic length, arranging a sound transducer at the position of the anatomical projection of the uterine artery, identifying the opening of the maternal aortic valve with measurement from the sound transducer as a first time, and the pulse wave arrival time at the uterine artery with measurements from the sound transducer as a second time, determining the central transit time based on the difference between the second time and the first time, and calculating the central pulse wave velocity based on the aortic length and the central transit time.

Systems, devices, and methods for performing active auscultation and detecting sonic energy measurements

Active auscultation may be used to determine organ (e.g., lung or heart) characteristics of users. An acoustic or piezo-electric signal (e.g., a pulse, a tone, and/or a broadband pulse) may be projected into an animal (typically human) body or thorax. The signal interacts with the body, or lungs, and in some cases may induce resonance within the body/lungs. A resultant signal may be emitted from the body which may be analyzed to determine, for example, a lung's resonant frequency or frequencies and/or how the sound is otherwise absorbed, reflected, or modified by the body. This information may be indicative of lung characteristics such as lung capacity, a volume of air trapped in the lungs, and/or the presence of COPD.
