SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING INSPIRATORY/EXPIRATORY AIR FLOW
20220233094 · 2022-07-28 ·

A method and a system for measuring inspiratory/expiratory air flow rate from inhalation/expiration near a microphone of an electronic device by a user. An inhaler is selected by the user among a plurality of possible inhalers, and the user is prompted to perform an inhalation/expiration close to a microphone of the computing device. Sound is measured during inhalation/expiration and sound data derived therefrom. There is determined the inspiratory/expiratory air flow rate by comparing the collected sound data with a flow rate data set used by the industrially calibrated device and stored in an inhaler-appropriate flow-rate database, and if the inspiratory/expiratory air flow rate is within a predetermined range for the selected inhaler, thereby determining whether the selected inhaler is one of the appropriate inhalers for the inspiratory/expiratory flow measured by comparing the determined inspiratory/expiratory air flow rate with a range of inspiratory/expiratory air flow rates corresponding to the selected inhaler.

Sensor for intervertebral fusion indicia

A diagnostic system is provided that provides sensing and transmitting of fusion indicia to determine whether fusion has occurred. In some embodiments, a diagnostic system comprises a spinal implant or graft material; an antenna configured for sending signals to a remote location; a sensor configured for measuring at least one fusion indicia; and a receiver for receiving signals at the remote location. In some embodiments, a method of utilizing a diagnostic system comprises the steps of inserting a spinal implant or graft material within a disc space between two vertebrae; measuring at least one fusion indicia; sending signals to a remote location with an antenna; and receiving signals with a receiver at the remote location.

SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING SOUND SOURCE
20210401365 · 2021-12-30 ·

There is provided a system for determining a sound source and a method thereof. The system comprises: an audio sensor; a biosensor for measuring one or more biosignals of a subject; and a processing unit communicatively coupled with the audio sensor and the biosensor, the processing unit configured to perform operations comprising: obtaining audio data from the audio sensor and biosignal data from the biosensor, the audio data and the biosignal data being time-synced with each other, detecting, based on the audio data, a sound exceeding a threshold, and determining that the sound exceeding the threshold originates from the subject if the biosignal data indicates a change in the one or more biosignals at a corresponding time.

System and method for characterizing an upper airway using speech characteristics

The present invention relates to systems and methods for characterizing at least one anatomical parameter of an upper airway of a patient by analysing spectral properties of an utterance, comprising: a mechanical coupler comprising means for restricting the jaw position of the patient; means for recording an utterance; and processing means for determining at least one anatomical parameter of the upper airway from the recorded utterance and comparing the recorded utterance to a threshold value. In addition the present invention relates to the use of the above mentioned systems as a diagnostics tool for assessing obstructive sleep apnea.

DEVICE AND METHOD USING DAMPED HARMONIC ANALYSIS FOR AUTOMATED PULMONARY AND ABDOMINAL EXAMINATION

An analyzer for diagnosing pulmonary and abdominals including, a pulsed force generator for outputting a mechanical disturbance to generate vibrations and reflected/return waves/vibrations in a patient's torso, and sensors for detecting the vibration/return wave signals. The apparatus compares the detected electrical signals with pre-stored reference wave profiles and based on the compared data generates an output signal indicative of a potential presence or absence of a pulmonary disease and/or condition.
