Method and assembly for checking the operating mode of a screen
A method for checking an operating mode of a display screen switchable between a free-viewing operating mode B1 and a restricted-viewing operating mode B2, comprising: in operating mode B2, determining a brightness value H of a surface and/or edge of a transparent light guide; then, depending on the brightness value H: i) unchanged use of operating mode B2 if the brightness value lies within a range of specified Hg values; ii) switching off operating mode B2 if the brightness value lies within a range of specified Hs values; or iii) changed use of operating mode B2 if the brightness value lies within a range of specified Hm values, with the control unit exerting an influence on the image content perceptible on the display screen by reducing the latter's brightness and/or contrast, with the range Hm lying between the ranges Hs and Hg, and with the ranges bordering on each other.
Head mounted device (HMD) coupled to smartphone executing personal authentication of a user
The present disclosure provides a display system including a HMD mounted on a head of a user and a smartphone coupled to the HMD. The smartphone includes a touch sensor configured to accept a position input operation to detect coordinates of an operational position, a first sensor configured to detect a motion of the user with respect to the smartphone, and a first execution unit configured to execute personal authentication of the user based on a detection result of the first sensor until the user starts the position input operation.
Method for preventing screen capture
A screen capture prevention method includes serving a single-color, DRM-protected video clip for display as a background for a document on a web browser. The document is processed to render its background color as transparent. Content of the document is viewable over the contrasting video clip background. When a screen capture event is detected, the video clip is changed to a same color as the content of the processed document, rendering the content indistinguishable from the background while the screen capture event is active.
EMAIL SECURITY ANALYSIS
The technology described herein visibly depicts hidden message traits to help users determine whether an email is genuine or deceptive. The hidden message traits are revealed by identifying and changing attributes that keep the hidden traits from being displayed in a rendered message. Spam messages, phishing messages, and messages that include or link to malicious programs (e.g., malware, ransomware) are examples of unwanted messages that can harm a recipient. These messages often rely on deception to get past email filtering systems and to trick a user into acting on content in a message. The deception often involves including hidden traits in a message that fool an automated filtering system. The technology described herein shows the visible traits to a user by including them in the rendered version of the message.
CONTROLLING DISPLAY DEVICES BASED ON VIEWING ANGLES
Techniques for controlling a display device of a computing device based on a viewing angle are described. According to an example of the present subject matter, a viewing angle corresponding to the pair of eyes directed towards the display device is determined. In an example, the viewing angle may be an angle between a first plane corresponding to a horizontal line drawn between the pair of eyes and a second plane corresponding to a horizontal line drawn at a center of the display device of the computing device. An action to control the display device may be performed based on the viewing angle corresponding to the pair of eyes.
Monitoring of interactions using eye tracking
An electronic interaction device may include an image sensor, a display, a storage device, a memory storing instructions, and a processing unit including one or more processors. The one or more processors may be configured to: receive at least one image of a predetermined space adjacent the electronic interaction device, identify a plurality of persons in the predetermined space adjacent the electronic interaction device, generate a positional mapping of the predetermined space adjacent the electronic interaction device, identify a user and one or more onlookers, extract eye tracking information corresponding to the one or more onlookers, calculate one or more points of focus representing a point at which one of the one or more onlookers is looking, determine whether any of the one or more points of focus is within a predetermined zone of interest of the electronic interaction device, and alert the user.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a display panel, a display panel driving circuit, and a power management integrated circuit that generates driving voltages, receives driving set data from a timing controller, stores driving hex values corresponding to the driving set data in first internal registers, and determines voltage levels of the driving voltages based on the driving hex values. The power management integrated circuit divides the driving hex values into upper and lower decimal values, derives a result decimal value by applying the upper and lower decimal values to a first authentication-formula, generates a result hex value based on the result decimal value, compares an authentication hex value corresponding to authentication data received from the timing controller with the result hex value, and selectively operates in a normal mode or in a protection mode based on a comparison result between the authentication hex value and the result hex value.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MISSION CRITICAL SCREEN VALIDATION ON COMMERCIAL DISPLAYS
A method for verifying the integrity, continuity, and availability (ICA) of information displayed on an uncertified display is disclosed. The method includes creating application data for display on the uncertified display device that includes a subliminal symbol that is periodically embedded in a few out of multiple tens of frames and that is camouflaged in the application data using steganography; transmitting the application data to the uncertified display device for display; receiving images of the application data displayed on the display screen; determining whether the subliminal symbol is detected in the captured images by extracting the symbol from the captured images and comparing the extracted symbol to an expected symbol; determining that the application data is not corrupted when the extracted symbol matches the expected symbol; and identifying a loss of ICA when the subliminal symbol is not detected or does not match the expected symbol.
Sub-pixel for a display with controllable viewing angle
A sub-pixel for an LED display, the sub-pixel comprising a first light emitting device having a first emission beam angle and a second light emitting device having a second beam angle, the second emission beam angle being different to the first emission beam angle. There is also described a display using a plurality of the sub-pixels.
Device for secure video streaming
A device comprising: at least two interfaces for interconnecting between a video source and a video display, wherein each of said interfaces comprises at least a video data channel and a display settings channel; and unidirectional circuitry; wherein said unidirectional circuitry is configured to allow transmission over said video data channel only from said video source to said video display, and wherein said device is configured to (i) receive, over said display settings channel, display settings data from said video display, and (ii) transmit, over said display settings channel, said display settings data to said video source.
