A display apparatus according to an embodiment of the disclosure includes a communicator configured to receive content from an external apparatus; a display; and a controller configured to determine whether tag information related to a component of the received content matches predetermined apparatus information, and determine whether to display the content based on the determined result.

A vehicular apparatus is provided in which a plurality of operating systems each perform a display on a display device. The vehicular apparatus includes a controller unit. The controller unit is configured to implement a virtual environment to operate the plurality of operating systems. The controller is further configured to monitor and detect a malfunction in the display performed on the display device in the virtual environment, and to shield a display area where an incorrect display may be performed in response to the malfunction being detected.

A display control device, which controls images to be displayed on a single display mounted on a vehicle, includes: multiple image determination units that determine the images to be displayed on the display; a state monitoring unit that successively monitors, as monitoring targets, the plurality of image determination units to determine whether an abnormality occurs in the plurality of image determination units; and a display mode determination unit that switches a display mode of the display in response to the state monitoring unit determining that an error image is displayed on the display due to the abnormality occurred in the plurality of image determination units. The display mode determination unit switches the display mode such that the error image is less likely to give discomfort to a user.

Techniques are disclosed for providing protection of sensitive information during the display of the sensitive information on a display. An example methodology implementing the techniques includes, by a computing device, receiving content for display on a display of the computing device and generating a mask for display over the content within the display, the mask including a window so that a portion of the content located within the window is viewable via the display, and content outside the window is not viewable via the display. The method also includes, by the computing device, applying the mask over the content so that the content can be read by moving the window over the content to display individual pieces of the content without display of the content in its entirety.

Apparatuses can include a display screen, a memory resource, a recognition sensor, and a controller. An example controller can receive data and activate information and/or images on a display screen based in part on the received data. In another example, a method can include storing recognition data in a memory resource, receiving primary recognition data, comparing the primary recognition data to the stored recognition data, and activating the display screen for a viewing angle responsive to authentication of the primary recognition data through the comparison of the primary recognition data and the stored recognition data.

A display device includes a display comprising a plurality of pixels. The display also has a plurality of regions. At least one of the plurality of regions is a protected region and the protected region includes at least one protection pixel. The display device also includes an image generator configured to receive a source image data for display content, identify a portion of the display content that includes sensitive data, and output the display content such that at least a portion of the protected region containing the sensitive data is displayed in at least one of a protection wavelength and a protection brightness.

Described herein are techniques and technologies to identify an encrypted content within a field of view of a user of a VR/AR system and process the encrypted content appropriately. The user of the VR/AR technology may have protected content in a field of view of the user. Encrypted content is mapped to one or more protected surfaces on a display device. Contents mapped to a protected surface may be rendered on the display device but prevented from being replicated from the display device.
