ACTIVE PRIVACY SCREEN
An assembly juxtaposed with a computer display has rows and columns of movable louvers that move as the user's head moves to permit light from the display to reach the user's eyes but to screen light from the display in other directions, to reduce the risk of eavesdropping.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to perform control to display, in the air, a first image that is observable in an ambient area of the first image and hinders a different image displayed in the air in a first area from being viewed from a second area. The first area is positioned on a first side of the first image. The first side faces a specific observer. The second area is positioned on a second side of the first image opposite to the first side. The processor is configured to perform control to display, in the air in the first area, a second image observable in an ambient area of the second image.
DATA RELAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
An object is to enhance usability when browsing through a measurement result from a sensor on an external computer. A data relay device includes a first connection part to which one or more sensors are connected, a second connection part to which an industrial network for communication with a control device is connected, a relay memory that temporarily stores first data received from the one or more sensors connected to the first connection part to relay the first data to the control device via the second connection part, a third connection part to which a computer network for communication with an external computer is connected, a creation unit that creates display screen information for use in displaying the first data stored in the relay memory in a predetermined display form, and a provision unit that provides the display screen information to the external computer via the third connection part.
Billboard for Context Information Sharing
Embodiments relate to a billboard circuit that stores context information received from various component circuits in an electronic device. The context information indicates an operating status of the corresponding component circuit, system or shared resources. The stored context information may be retrieved by one or more component circuits when events (e.g., turning on of a component circuit) are detected. By using the billboard circuit, a component circuit may detect changes in the operating status of other components circuits and configure or update its operations even when the changes occurred while the component circuit was asleep or disabled. The billboard circuit may monitor updating of the context information by the component circuit and initiate notification to other components circuits when certain entries of the context information is updated.
Display apparatus having adjustable viewing angle range and method of driving the same
A display apparatus including a backlight module, first and second electrically-controlled elements, electrically-controlled first and second polarizers, a half-wave plate, and a display panel is provided. An included angle between first and second alignment directions of first and second alignment layers of the first electrically-controlled element is between 75 degrees and 105 degrees. An included angle between third and fourth alignment directions of third and fourth alignment layers of the second electrically-controlled element is between 165 degrees and 195 degrees. A first absorption axis of the first polarizer disposed between the backlight module and the first electrically-controlled element is perpendicular to a second absorption axis of the second polarizer disposed between the first and second electrically-controlled elements. The half-wave plate is disposed between the second polarizer and the second electrically-controlled element. The display panel is disposed on the second electrically-controlled element. A method of driving the display apparatus is provided.
Display system
A display with local dimming backlight and an active privacy mode. The display may include a backlight source, lenses, a passive diffuser, an active diffuser and a transmissive display. The backlight source may define a two-dimensional matrix of light sources configured to generate an initial light. The lenses may be mounted adjacent to the backlight source, aligned with the light sources, and configured to generate a collimated light. The passive diffuser may be mounted adjacent to the lenses and configured to spatially spread the collimated light. The active diffuser may be mounted adjacent to the passive diffuser, configured to generate an intermediate light in response to the collimated light, and configured to change a diffusive property of the intermediate light in response to a scattering signal. The transmissive display may be mounted adjacent to the active diffuser and configured to generate multiple visible images by modulating the intermediate light.
System for capturing images from applications rendering video to a native platform with a graphics rendering library
A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for capturing an image rendered by a target application. One general aspect includes a computer-implemented method for capturing an image, the method including: intercepting API calls made by a target application to a graphics display driver, where the API calls made to the graphics display driver by the target application are made using a graphics rendering API library; and using the intercepted API calls to construct a copy of a frame buffer of the image, where the copy of the frame buffer is constructed independent of the graphics display driver. Certain embodiments may include corresponding stand-alone and/or network computer systems, apparatus, and computer programs recorded on one or more computer storage devices, each configured to perform one or more of these actions.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING PIXEL CONTRAST TO ENABLE PRIVACY DISPLAY LEGIBILITY
An information handling system includes a display device, a camera, and a processor. The camera captures an image including first and second observers in a field of view in front of the display device. Based on the captured image, the processor determines a first location of the first observer and a second location of the second observer. Based on the first and second locations, the processor determines a first set of pixels located within a primary field of view for the first observer, and a second set of pixels located within a second field of view for the second observer. The processor calculates a viewing legibility adjustment for the second set of pixels. Based on the viewing legibility adjustment, the processor adjusts a contrast ratio for the second set of pixels to below a viewing threshold level.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing device includes an openable display mechanism that displays a first screen in a first display region in a closed state and displays a second screen in a second display region having a larger area than the first display region in an open state, and a processor configured to execute a display process of lowering a visibility of the second screen when the display mechanism in the closed state changes to the open state.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a panel device and a hardware processor. The hardware processor controls the panel device in a first mode for displaying first image data, and controls the panel device in a second mode for displaying second image data in a case that an abnormality in display of the first image data is detected. In the second mode, the hardware processor: reads out the second image data from a memory of the display device; displays the second image data on the panel device in place of the first image data; determines presence or absence of a touch on the panel device based on a touch detection signal acquired from the panel device; and outputs, to the external system, an execution command to execute predetermined processing in response to determining that the touch on the panel device is present.
