A foldable stringed instrument having a neck and/or body that may assume a reduced profile by folding an upper neck portion away from the playing position through the use of a translating bridge assembly and a translating truss assembly, wherein the foldable stringed instrument is capable of housing or otherwise being coupled to any of a variety of electronics or electrical components (e.g. a smart phone or tablet computer) having one or more applications (apps) for driving the operation, functionality and/or effects associated with the foldable stringed instrument.

A string instrument headstock and headstock-neck region brace apparatus. Such an apparatus may be used to strengthen, protect, and brace the region on a string instrument, guitar, violin, mandolin, banjo, etc. where the headstock meets the neck. The apparatus cradles the underside of the string instrument with a relatively strong material. Simultaneously, the apparatus applies a force to the instrument headstock countering the stress and strain produced by the tension in the instrument strings; and the apparatus secures, braces and holds the headstock in the relatively strong brace.

The diamond tipped nut filing tool includes a body and a diamond tipped file. The diamond tipped file may be disposed along one end of the body. The body has a longitudinal length and at least half of the length includes a circumference so that at least one half of the longitudinal length is rounded.

An under bridge, with a top and a bottom, a front and a back and a first end and a second end. An attachment device is connected with the under bridge where the attachment device is configured to attach the under bridge to a musical instrument such that when attached to a musical instrument the bottom of the under bridge is above the musical instrument and a space is created between the bottom of the under bridge and the musical instrument. A string retainer slot is provided in the bottom of the under bridge.

A stringed instrument with sympathetic strings is provided that includes (in addition to the primary elements corresponding to standard instrument elements) sympathetic strings, one or more supplementary bridges, a supplementary string termination assembly, and a set of supplementary tuners. The sympathetic strings are stretched diagonally across the soundboard of the instrument, with one end of each string attached at a supplementary tuner and the other end attached at a supplementary string termination assembly. The sympathetic strings are spaced by the supplementary bridge(s) a sufficient distance from the soundboard to prevent interaction with it during vibration of the string during playing. The sympathetic strings are activated by sound vibrations created by the bowed primary strings, may additionally be activated by plucking or strumming, and may be manually muted.

A musical instrument protection system includes a plurality of pad devices each having any shape, a body including an adhesive side, a contact side, and a thickness. The pad device is defined by the adhesive side and the contact side, separated by the thickness which can be any color or design. The contact side may be in contact with a hand of a user during an in-use installed condition, and the adhesive side is configured to be adhered to an outer surface of a musical instrument such that it provides a protective barrier for protecting finished outer surfaces, preserving and sometimes enhancing the acoustics of the musical instrument.

A musical instrument having a hollow or semi-hollow body and a sound board, representing either the anatomical front surface or the anatomical rear surface of the hollow body, or with the front surface and the rear surface both functioning as a sound board for the musical instrument and having at least one tuned sound port located in either the front and/or rear sound board of the musical instrument through which sound can exist with the tuned sound port comprising a hollow member adapted to be inserted through a hole formed in one or both of the sound boards and having a central opening of predetermined geometry and a length extending a fixed distance from the sound board into the interior of the musical instrument of between 5% and 95% of the distance between the front rear sound surfaces of the musical instrument. The musical instrument is preferably a stringed musical instrument which may include a plurality of panels extending between the front and rear sound boards for enhancing the structural support of the musical instrument and for funneling sound through the tuned sound ports or alternatively the musical instrument may include a plurality of panels extending between the front and rear surfaces without a tuned sound port.
