10573281 · 2020-02-25 · ·

A tremolo device for static retention of a plurality of musical instrument strings in a stringed instrument. The tremolo device has a body with an upper surface, a neck portion, and a plurality of strings anchored at a first end of the neck and extending over at least a portion and secured to the tremolo device at the other end of the neck portion and the body and possesses an inertia block mechanism with substantially solid construction disposed to receive and securely retain a plurality of raw instrument strings without removal of a ball end from each string. The inertia block has an upper portion, a lower portion, and a plurality of internal, longitudinally displaced, cylindrically shaped, string retaining chambers designed to pass through an entirety of the block mechanism. The string retaining chambers have an upper and lower portion corresponding with the upper and lower portions of the block.

Acoustic guitar energy harvester

The present invention is directed to an acoustic resonator within an acoustic chamber such as a stringed instrument body. The acoustic resonator is provided with a piezoelectric material. The kinetic energy derived from the acoustic chamber creates vibrations of sound producing a corresponding or sympathetic mechanical vibration to the piezoelectric material. As a consequence, the piezoelectric material will generate electrical energy which will undergo conditioning by energy harvester electronics. The conditioned electrical energy is used to provide power to multiple devices including on-board electronics or a USB charging port.

Capo with attachment mechanism and fretting action in separate offset planes

Embodiments of a capo and fretting component are described. In certain embodiments, the fretting component is threaded onto a crossbar configured to overlie the instrument strings when in use and to pivot with respect to the crossbar so as to contact and press the strings against a fret on the instrument neck. The fretting component is offset with respect to the attachment mechanism of the capo, allowing the attachment mechanism to be offset on the neck of the instrument from where it would normally be positioned to achieve a comparable fretting effect.
