DIGITAL REFLEX QUANTIZATION AND SIGNATURE ANALYSIS
Systems and methods for digital reflex quantization and signature analysis. Movement of a stimulating device invoking a reflex response in an organism is captured as stimuli data. Electromyographic (EMG) of the reflex response is captured as EMG data. Movement resulting from the reflex response of a limb/appendage of the organism is captured as motion data. One or more of the stimuli data, the EMG data, and the motion data are analyzed to determine one or both of a motion signature and an EMG signature defining quantitative evaluation of the reflex response.
Stereoscopic camera with fluorescence visualization
A stereoscopic camera with fluorescence visualization is disclosed. An example stereoscopic camera includes a visible light source, a near-ultraviolet light source, and a near-ultraviolet light source. The stereoscopic camera also includes a light filter assembly having left and right filter magazines positioned respectively along left and right optical paths and configured to selectively enable certain wavelengths of light to pass through. Each of the left and right filter magazines includes an infrared cut filter, a near-ultraviolent cut filter, and a near-infrared bandpass filter. A controller of the camera is configured to provide for a visible light mode, an indocyanine green (“ICG”) fluorescence mode, and a 5-aminolevulinic acid (“ALA”) fluorescence mode by synchronizing the activation of the light sources with the selection of the filters. A processor of the camera combines image data from the different modes to enable fluorescence emission light to be superimposed on visible light stereoscopic images.
Field-based location coordinate correction
A method uses patches fixed to a surface of a body, the patches including respective electrodes in contact with the surface, and at least one of the patches configured to output a signal in response to a magnetic field applied to the body. Initially, the signal is processed to compute first magnetic locations and first electrical locations of the at least one of the patches. Subsequently, the signal is processed to compute second magnetic locations and second electrical locations of the at least one of the patches. A first relation is computed between the first magnetic and the first electrical locations, a second relation is computed between the second magnetic and the second electrical locations, and upon detecting a difference between the second and the first relations, a magnetic location correction is computed and then applied to track a position of a magnetic sensor inside the body.
Seamless disposable absorbent garment
A substantially cylindrical, or tubular, garment structure can be provided using a three-dimensional or circular knitting machine, using a mold, or using an additive manufacturing process. A unit segment of the garment structure can include two waistband regions at opposite end faces of the cylindrical garment structure, and each of the waistband regions can correspond to a different one of two nested articles. Each of the two nested articles can be converted into a separate and distinct brief-style absorbent underwear assembly. In an example, a waistband region and body panel region of an absorbent underwear product can be formed using the same knitted material in a continuous, three-dimensional knitting process.
System and method for enhanced data analysis with specialized video enabled software tools for medical environments
Medical software tools platforms utilize a surgical display to provide access to specific medical software tools, such as medically-oriented applications or widgets, that can assist surgeons or surgical team in performing various procedures. In particular, an endoscopic camera may register the momentary rise in the optical signature reflected from a tissue surface and in turn transmit it to a medical image processing system which can also receive patient heart rate data and display relevant anomalies. Changes in various spectral components and the speed at which they change in relation to a source of stimulus (heartbeat, breathing, light source modulation, etc.) may indicate the arrival of blood, contrast agents or oxygen absorption. Combinations of these may indicate various states of differing disease or margins of tumors, and so forth. Also, changes in temperatures, physical dimensions, pressures, photoacoustic pressures and the rate of change may indicate tissue anomalies in comparison to historic values.
Ultrasound guided opening of blood-brain barrier
An ultrasound treatment system operable to deliver ultrasound energy to a patient's brain, the system comprises a treatment ultrasound transducer comprising a plurality of treatment elements, the treatment ultrasound transducer locatable to deliver ultrasound into the head of the patient. The system further comprises a data store, one or more position sensors configured to detect relative movement between the head of the patient and the treatment ultrasound transducer, and a data processor.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RELIEVING SLEEP DISORDERS
A noninvasive device for reliving sleep disorders is disclosed. The device may include: one or more vibrating units; at least one sensor; one or more attachment element configured to attach the one or more vibrating units to a user's face; and a controller configured to: receive a first signal indicating a disturbed sleeping from the at least one sensor; and activate the one or more vibrating units to apply vibrations to the face of the user to stimulate at least one branch of the trigeminal nerve.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE ELASTICITY OF SOFT-SOLIDS
The invention comprises a device and method to estimate the elasticity of soft elastic solids from surface wave measurements. The method is non-destructive, reliable and repeatable. The final device is low-cost and portable. It is based in audio-frequency shear wave propagation in elastic soft solids. Within this frequency range, shear wavelength is centimeter sized. Thus, the experimental data is usually collected in the near-field of the source. Therefore, an inversion algorithm taking into account near-field effects was developed for use with the device. Example applications are shown in beef samples, tissue mimicking materials and in vivo skeletal muscle of healthy volunteers
Piezoelectric element, method for producing the same, ultrasound probe, and ultrasound imaging apparatus
The piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric composite including a plurality of piezoelectrics and a reaction product, and an electrode pair. The plurality of piezoelectrics is disposed in alignment at an interval of 1 to 10 m. The aspect ratio of each of the piezoelectrics is 5 or higher. The reaction product is a reaction product of a crosslinkable epoxy resin composition containing an elastomer component, a crosslinkable epoxy resin, and a crosslinking agent. One or each of a number of epoxy groups per molecule of the crosslinkable epoxy resin and a crosslinking value of the crosslinking agent is 3 or more.
