Sound Generating System with Calibration
A system for remotely generating sound from a musical instrument includes a calibration system to improve the quality of the sound produced by the musical instrument. In one embodiment, the system includes an input configured to receive a signal representative of the sound of a first musical instrument, an exciter for converting the signal to mechanical vibrations, a coupling interface for coupling the mechanical vibrations into a second musical instrument, and a calibration system for altering the signal sent to the exciter.

MUSICAL SOUND GENERATOR
A musical sound generator is provided including a tube defining a resonant cavity, the tube having a plurality of sound producing chimes configured to produce an audible sound when at least one object impacts on at least one of the chimes; a reservoir configured to hold a number of objects; and a transfer mechanism configured to transfer the objects from the reservoir to an elevated position within the resonant cavity, wherein the objects fall down from the elevated position within the resonant cavity by gravity after being transferred by the transfer mechanism, to strike the plurality of sound producing chimes; and wherein the position of the reservoir is configured to be moved depending on the level of the objects held in the reservoir.

KEYBOARD MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
A keyboard musical instrument has a drive mechanism that includes a hammer shank displaceable in conjunction with a key operation; a restricting member that is struck by the hammer shank as a result of displacement of the hammer shank; a first support member that supports the restricting member; a first coil mounted to the drive mechanism; a wired board; a signal generator, including a second coil that generates a magnetic field, mounted to the wired board, the signal generator being configured to generate a detection signal based on a distance between the first coil and the second coil; a second support member configured to support the wired board; and a base member. The first support member and the second support member are fixed to the base member.
