Musicality information provision method, musicality information provision apparatus, and musicality information provision system
A musicality information provision method includes acquiring first performance data from a performance of a given composition, calculating, with respect to a combination of a plurality of parameters indicating musicality, which are included in the first performance data, respective distances between the first performance data and a plurality of sets of second performance data that are acquired from performances of the given composition and that are compared with the first performance data, and outputting determination information for determining the musicality of the first performance data, the determination information including information indicating the distances.

Systems and methods for identifying segments of music having characteristics suitable for inducing autonomic physiological responses
Systems and methods for identifying the most impactful moments or segments of music, which are those most likely to elicit a chills effect in a human listener. A digital music signal is processed using two or more objective processing metrics that measure acoustic features known to be able to elicit the chills effect. Individual detection events are identified in the output of each metric based on the output being above or below thresholds relative to the overall output. A combination algorithm aggregates concurrent detection events to generate a continuous concurrence data set of the number of concurrent detection events during the music signal, which can be calculated per beat. A phrase detection algorithm can identify impactful segments of the music based on at least one of peaks, peak-proximity, and a moving average of the continuous concurrence data.
Hands-free page turning for sheet music
An apparatus for hands-free turning of sheets in a booklet. A paper clip is attached to sheet(s) in the booklet. The apparatus comprises a swing arm with a magnet for magnetically attaching to the paper clip on the sheet(s). The swing arm sweeps from right-to-left with the sheet attached thereto, thereby turning the sheet over to the back page. This can be operated by a hands-free actuator, such as a foot pedal. The swing arm then makes a return stroke to turn the next sheet. Also disclosed are methods for turning pages in a hands-free manner.
AUTOMATIC MUSIC DOCUMENT DISPLAYING ON PERFORMING MUSIC
A user interface presents structural musical information in a score in a way where both the start and the end points of each jump in the score are visible simultaneously. Each jump is presented in a manner that allows the user to select during performance, which one of different alternatives to choose, when approaching a decision point like a repeat in the song.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND MEDIUM FOR AFFECTIVE MUSIC RECOMMENDATION AND COMPOSITION
A method, system, and medium for affective music recommendation and composition. A listener's current affective state and target affective state are identified, and an audio stream, such as a music playlist, is generated with the intent of effecting a controlled trajectory of the listener's affective state from the current state to the target state. The audio stream is generated by a machine learning system trained using data from the listener and/or other users indicating the effectiveness of specific audio segments, or audio segments having specific features, in effecting the desired affective trajectory. The audio stream is presented to the user as an auditory stimulus. The machine learning system may be updated based on the affective state changes induced in the listener after exposure to the auditory stimulus. Over time, the machine learning system gains a robust understanding of the relationship between music and human affect, and thus the machine learning system may also be used to compose, master, and/or adapt music configured to induce specific affective responses in listeners.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR SEGMENTING A MUSICAL COMPOSITION INTO MUSICAL SEGMENTS
Systems, devices, and methods for segmenting musical compositions are described. Discrete, musically-coherent segments (such as intro, verse, chorus, bridge, solo, and the like) of a musical composition are identified. Distance measures are used to evaluate whether each bar of a musical composition is more like the bars that directly precede it or more like the bars that directly succeed it, and each respective series of musically similar bars is assigned to the same respective segment. Large changes in the distance measure(s) between adjacent bars may be used to identify boundaries between abutting musical segments.
Computer systems and computer program products for implementing segmentation are also described. The results of segmentation may advantageously be applied in computer-based composition of music and musical variations, as well as in other applications involving labeling, characterizing, or otherwise processing music.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
This information processing device comprises: a control unit which receives an input of information indicating one or more timings in a playback time of a piece of music, and generates a file including information pertaining to a timbre control performed from each of the one or more timings; and a transmission unit which transmits an audio signal of the piece of music and the information pertaining to the timbre control in the file to a device which outputs a synthesized sound of the playback sound of the piece of music and the playing sound of a musical instrument.
