An analytical toilet comprising a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; a base supporting the bowl; a supply of flush water; and a plurality of receptacles, each providing mechanical attachment, a power supply, and a data connection to an analytical device, which analytical device is adapted to provide data useful to the user is disclosed.

A fluid container including a container having a proximal end, a distal end, and an opening at the proximal end, a collecting chamber coupled to the proximal end of the container. The collecting chamber has a proximal end with an upper opening and a distal end with a lower opening, the upper opening having a diameter larger than a diameter of the lower opening. The fluid container further includes a cover with a base coupled to the proximal end of the collecting chamber and a stopper extending distally from a bottom of the base, the cover having an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the cover seals the proximal end of the collecting chamber, and the stopper extends through the collecting chamber and in the open position, the cover exposes the upper opening, and the stopper is removed from the area proximate the lower opening.

A blister strip which can be stuck onto the skin, is formed from at least two sheets and has an applicator for applying a medium contained in the blister to the skin, wherein the blister strip includes an upper sheet, with at least one protuberance, wherein the underside of the upper sheet, the underside enclosing the protuberance, is of adhesive configuration. The blister strip has a lower sheet, which covers the lower surface of the blister strip and can be drawn off from the adhesive underside of the upper sheet. The protuberance contains an applicator, separating the protuberance into at least two sub-volumes. Wherein the applicator has at least one opening, which connects two sub-volumes, wherein one sub-volume is located between the applicator and the lower sheet, and wherein at least one sub-volume is entirely surrounded by the inner surface of the protuberance and the applicator, and contains the medium.

The present invention generally relates to a sample receiving device for releasably storing a substance. The sample receiving device includes a lid having a reservoir for retaining the substance, and a pierceable barrier sealing the substance within the reservoir; and b) a funnel for receiving a sample and configured for closure by the lid. The funnel is configured for releasable attachment to a sample receptacle such that a sample can be provided to the funnel and travel through the channel in the funnel into the sample receptacle. Further, the funnel includes one or more cutting ribs for cutting the pierceable barrier such that upon cutting of the pierceable barrier the substance is released from the reservoir, flows through the channel in the funnel and into the sample receptacle to be mixed with the sample. The present invention also provides a kit for collecting and storing biomolecules.

Recombinant adeno associated viral vectors are disclosed. These include AAV8 or AAV9 derived vectors that include capsid proteins with mutations that confer upon the vector particular characteristics such as the ability to transduce or avoid (detarget) particular tissues, to be retained longer in the blood, or to be internalized in a cell without viral expression.

Disclosed here are kits comprising pre-packed stabilizing solutions for stabilizing combinations of biomarkers demonstrating sufficient accuracy and specificity for identifying kidney injuries. Such kits can be better adapted for sample collection at a subject's dwelling, thus easing the burdensome requirement of continuous monitoring for kidney injury.

Described herein are various inventions and embodiments thereof, directed to systems, devices, and methods for separating a sample. Embodiments of sample collection devices disclosed herein may maintain separation of different volumes of sample during collecting, handling, and accessing of the sample. A sample collection device, in some embodiments, may comprise an enclosure defining a first chamber, a second chamber, and a partition therebetween configured to separate the first chamber and the second chamber. An assembly coupled to the partition may be configured to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration based on fluid and gas flow through the assembly.

Disclosed is a breath sampling device comprising a buffer tube, sensor module and breath sampling port. The buffer tube has a proximal end into which a user exhales and a distal end opposite the proximal end, the sensor module is at the distal end and used for measuring parameters of a breath exhaled by the user into the buffer tube, and the breath sampling port is disposed between the proximal end and distal end. The used exhales into the distal end and a portion of the exhaled breath can be diverted into the sampling port substantially without contacting the sensor module.

Disclosed are a reagent holder, a testing apparatus assembly, an aqueous humor collection device and an aqueous humor collection method. The reagent holder (9) comprises a holder body and a functional station arranged on the holder body, wherein the functional station comprises a fluid holding tube insertion hole (91) and an elastic component. The elastic component can elastically act on a fluid holding tube (106) in the case where the fluid holding tube (106) is inserted into the liquid holding tube insertion hole (91) so as to enable the fluid holding tube (106) to elastically move in the direction of the central axis of the hole of the fluid holding tube insertion hole (91). By means of using the reagent holder to elastically fix the fluid holding tube (106), the rigid collision between a fluid drawing device and a bottom wall of the fluid holding tube (106) can be converted into an elastic collision, so as to prevent a testing apparatus from triggering a firing pin protection function during the fluid drawing process, such that the depth to which the fluid drawing device can extend into the tube cavity of the fluid holding tube (106) is greatly increased, and the sample extraction amount is thus effectively increased.
