Cell population analysis
A method of analysis using mass spectrometry and/or ion mobility spectrometry is disclosed comprising: (a) using a first device to generate smoke, aerosol or vapour from a target in vitro or ex vivo cell population; (b) mass analysing and/or ion mobility analysing said smoke, aerosol or vapour, or ions derived therefrom, in order to obtain spectrometric data; and (c) analysing said spectrometric data in order to identify and/or characterise said target cell population or one or more cells and/or compounds present in said target cell population.
Systems for gross processing of tissue samples and related methods
Tissue sample cassettes for receiving tissue samples include an upper tray including compartments separated by dividers, a lower tray coupled to the upper tray and having a central recess, and an absorbent material located in the recess of the lower tray. Related systems and methods for automated gross processing of tissue samples are also disclosed.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMAGING AND COLLECTION OF DATA FOR DIAGNOSTIC PURPOSES
A system for outputting a representation of a wound in tissue comprises a housing configured to removably receive at least a portion of a wireless communication device. At least one light source coupled to the housing is configured to emit excitation light to illuminate a target which includes at least a portion of the wound. A power supply contained in the housing is configured to provide power to the light source. A non-transitory computer-readable medium stores a program executable to cause the performance of operations comprising detecting signals responsive to illumination of the target, outputting the representation of the target based thereon, storing data relative to one or more target surface parameter based on the detected signals, and displaying the representation. The signals correspond to at least one of endogenous or exogeneous fluorescence, absorbance, and reflectance from at least one biological component in and/or on the target.
STROKE EXAMINATION SYSTEM, STROKE EXAMINATION METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A stroke examination system which conducts an examination for a sign of stroke in a subject includes: an obtainer which obtains profile information relating to a brain disorder of the subject; a determiner which determines a priority of each of a plurality of examination items for stroke, based on the profile information obtained; a plurality of examiners which conducts examinations of the plurality of the examination items in a descending order of the priority determined; and a diagnosis unit which outputs diagnostic information relating to the sign of stroke in the subject based on an examination result obtained by the plurality of the examination items.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS TO COLLECT, STORE, AND ANALYZE CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES
Collection devices, systems, and methods include those for collecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and/or other chemical substances from a target area of a subject’s anatomy (e.g., a subject’s skin, a wound on a subject, etc.). In some cases, the collector may have a collection component including an adsorbent material. The collector may be used with a pump. The pump may be configured to draw a fluid flow containing one or more chemical substances from a target area on a subject’s anatomy through the collection component. The collection component may be configured to collect at least some of the chemical substances from the fluid flow as the flow passes through the collection component.
BLOOD ABNORMALITY PREDICTION DEVICE, BLOOD ABNORMALITY PREDICTION METHOD, AND PROGRAM
There is a need for a technique to determine a presence or absence of morbidity of a lifestyle-related disease and a possibility of future morbidity (risk of morbidity) in a non-invasive manner for a subject. The present disclosure provides a blood abnormality prediction device including, a prediction unit configured to predict a presence or absence of a blood abnormality in a subject on the basis of the information of the image that captures a crown portion of a capillary, wherein the prediction unit is configured to measure one or more selected from the group consisting of an entire width, an apex width, a loop diameter, a venous limb width, and an arterial limb width of the crown portion of the capillary on the basis of the information of the image, to predict the presence or absence of the blood abnormality in the subject from a result of the measurement.
Lateral flow assay device
The present invention provides a diagnostic kit for detecting the presence or quantity of one or more test analytes within a test sample taken from a body surface of a mammal, the diagnostic kit comprising: a separate insert for a lateral flow device (200, 411) comprising a membrane (201) fixed to a rigid support (202) and, the separate insert being configured to obtain the test sample; a lateral-flow assay device configured (300, 400) to accept the separate insert (200, 411); a securing member (210) configured to releasably attach (211) the separate insert to a body surface of a mammal (213); wherein the securing member (210) comprise an expandable layer (212) configured to apply pressure to the separate insert (200, 411) thereby pressing the separate insert (200, 411) against the body surface of the mammal (213).
Negative-pressure paracentesis syringe and use thereof
The present invention discloses a disposable negative-pressure anterior chamber Paracentesis syringe which belongs to the technical field of medical supplies. It comprises nine parts, including a needle cap, a Paracentesis syringe, a needle base, an internal needle, a protective cover of the internal needle, an airlock, a needle tube, a collection tube and a collection tube rack. The invention has the advantages that it fixes the Paracentesis syringe during puncture and limits the depth of the needle insertion, releases the aqueous humor slowly to prevent a sudden drop of the intraocular pressure, reduces the risk of the intraocular infection by separating the anterior chamber from outside and the collection tube can collect and store the aqueous humor directly.
Biopsy device
A biopsy device includes a body, a needle, a hollow cutter, and a tissue sample holder. The needle extends distally from the body and includes a lateral aperture. The cutter is movable relative to the needle to sever a tissue sample and defines a cutter lumen. The tissue sample holder includes a manifold and an outer cover. The manifold includes a plurality of passages and an indexing portion. Each passage of the plurality of passages is configured to selectively index relative to a proximal end of the hollow cutter. The outer cover includes a resilient member. The resilient member is configured to engage with the indexing portion of the manifold to selectively index a passage of the plurality of passages with the distal end of the hollow cutter.
Multi-axis specimen imaging device with embedded orientation markers
A specimen holding and positioning apparatus operable to substantially non-movably maintain a specimen (e.g., an excised tissue specimen) in a fixed or stable orientation with respect to the apparatus during imaging operations (e.g., x-ray imaging), transport (e.g., from a surgery room to a pathologist's laboratory), and the like for use in facilitating accurate detection and diagnosis of cancers and/or other abnormalities of the specimen.
