SOUND-GENERATING DEVICE FOR IN UTERO INTERACTIONS WITH A DEVELOPING FETUS
20180146868 · 2018-05-31 · ·

This disclosure pertains to stimulation and monitoring devices for in utero cognitive stimulation of and interaction with developing fetuses by synthesizing sounds and sound patterns derived from movements of the fetuses' bodies and appendages. The exemplary stimulation and monitoring devices comprise arrays of sensors positionable above and/or the sides of the womb for detecting and recording movements of the fetus's body and appendages, one or more speakers, a microprocessor, controls, and optionally one or more light-emitting components. The collected movement data may be processed by a synthesizer for production of sound patterns and light patterns that are correlated with the movement data. The sound patterns and light patterns produced by the synthesizer may be transmitted through the speakers and the light-emitting components toward and into the womb to provide the development fetus with immediate cognitive stimulation in response to the movements of their body and appendages.

Methods, Devices and Computer Program Products for Interactive Musical Improvisation Guidance
20180144732 · 2018-05-24 · ·

A method and a device provides a user with the ability to freely improvise or play around with a selection of different chords and be provided with visual guidance assisting the improvisation of melody, while also providing accompaniment consistent with the selection of chords. Sound files consistent with a user selection of a chord and/or a dynamic level are selected from an audio library and played, while the user is given visual cues on a user interface keyboard assisting the user to select notes that are consistent with the chord selected for the accompaniment.

System and method of generating music from electrical activity data

The Plant Choir system comprises a software program and hardware that measures electrical activity of a person, plant, or animal and translates those readings into music on a computing device. The system gathers electrical activity data using electrodermal activity (EDA) measurement devices. The EDA readings of the individual subjects are translated via the software into musical melodies in real time. The individual subject melodies are combined to create interesting harmonies similar to a choir. The music is rendered using a MIDI (Musical Instrument Data Interface) programming interface of the computer operating system. The software allows the user to select program options, set music and program parameters. Variations in the EDA signal are interpreted as music. Each subject connected to the system is assigned a musical voice and the voices are combined to create multi part harmonies similar to a choir.

MUSICAL SOUND GENERATING DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD FOR SAME, STORAGE MEDIUM, AND ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

An electronic musical instrument uses a mouthpiece model that models a mouthpiece as a three-dimensional shape having one end at which the mouthpiece is to be held in a mouth of a performer being smaller than another end. A processor in the instrument calculates a reflection coefficient of a progressive wave and a regressive wave using the mouthpiece model by calculating a wave impedance for the progressive wave and calculating a wave impedance for the regressive wave, and generates a musical sound signal on the basis of the calculated reflection coefficient, which is then outputted to a sound generator for sound production.

PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT
20180025711 · 2018-01-25 ·

An electronic percussion instrument comprising a pair of drum assemblies of each of different tone. Each drum assembly is mounted on a housing and comprises a drum head having a sensor responsive to touch and/or pressure and an analog-to-digital converter to generate an electronic signal indicative of said touch and/or pressure. The electronic signal is transmitted to a processing unit which analyses it and generates an output signal. The output signal is transmitted to a sound card which reproduces a sound representative of a drumbeat based on the output signal.

Music synthesizer with spatial metadata output

Described are apparatus for generating and/or processing audio signals. One apparatus includes: a first stage for obtaining an audio signal; a second stage for modifying the audio signal based on one or more control signals for shaping sound represented by the audio signal; a third stage for generating spatial metadata related to the modified audio signal, based at least in part on the one or more control signals; and an output stage for outputting the modified audio signal together with the generated spatial metadata. Also described are corresponding methods, as well as corresponding programs and computer-readable storage media.

Device, method, and medium for integrating auditory beat stimulation into music
12205566 · 2025-01-21 · ·

A device, method, and medium for integrating monaural and binaural beats into music are provided. The music is analyzed to determine key, root tone, and spectral range. It is then remixed with monaural beats and/or binaural beats at frequencies based on a desired entrainment frequency and the root tone and lowest dominant frequency range of the music. Additional harmonics of the beats in higher octaves may be integrated into the music as well using mixing and/or equalization.

Apparatus for tracking the fundamental frequency of a signal with harmonic components stronger than the fundamental
09824673 · 2017-11-21 · ·

Methods and digital circuits providing frequency correction to frequency synthesizers are disclosed. An FLL digital circuit is provided that is configured to handle a reference frequency that is dynamic and ranges over a multi-decade range of frequencies. The FLL circuit includes a digital frequency iteration engine that allows for detection of disappearance of a reference frequency. When the digital frequency iteration engine detects that the reference frequency signal is not available, the oscillator generated frequency is not corrected, and the last value of the oscillator generated frequency is held until the reference frequency signal becomes available again. This FLL circuit is also preceded by a low-pass filter which is dynamically tuned to the frequency to which the FLL locks, eliminating harmonic components in the original signal which might otherwise cause errors in frequency estimation.

CONSONANT LENGTH CHANGING DEVICE, ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, MUSICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEM, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

An onset length changing device includes at least one processor configured to: perform a process of advancing a first vocal generation start timing of a first vowel in a certain syllable including a first consonant and a second vocal generation start timing of a second vowel in a syllable including a second consonant that is different from the certain syllable, based on a parameter designated in response to one user operation; and not to change a vocal generation start timing of a vowel in a syllable without including a consonant.
