Detachable fingergrip whistle system
09721554 · 2017-08-01 · ·

A whistle system that enables an official or other user to not only have the whistle in a secure position for quick and easy use while also enabling the user to be able to use both hands as well. In particular, the whistle system includes a fingergrip that allows the user to quickly move the the whistle in position for use in a natural motion, while allowing the fingergrip to then quickly separate from the whistle to allow both hands of the user to be utilized. Alternatively, the whistle allows individuals with restricted movement in one arm to still officiate. A user having restricted movement in one arm can simply wear the whistle on one hand, move it into position in the mouth to be blown, and then quickly separated from the whistle to allow the signal to be indicated with one hand. The whistle system includes a whistle with a fingergrip. The fingergrip is securely attached to the whistle by a securement system that also allows the fingergrip to be separated from the whistle with an application of force.

MEASUREMENT OF RESPIRATORY FUNCTION

The present invention provides a method of measuring respiratory flow rate. The method includes a user exhaling through a flow dependent sound producing device which comprises a mouthpiece and a vortex chamber. The vortex chamber has an axis and an outlet such that exhaled air flows through the mouthpiece into the vortex chamber causing the exhaled air to form a vortex around the axis and then pass out of the chamber via the outlet in an axial direction, thereby producing a sound. The method further includes detecting the sound using a mobile electronic device and analyzing said sound to determine a frequency of said sound and using said frequency to determine the respiratory flow rate.

Retrofit Self-Annunciating Sprinkler

A water-powered residential fire suppression and alarm system is provided. The system comprises a sprinkler head, a water-powered alarm, a fire-resistant transfer line assembly, and a housing assembly. The sprinkler activates upon excessive heat. The transfer line assembly provides an unclosable channel connecting an existing residential water fixture with the sprinkler head. The transfer line assembly includes a fire-resistant transfer line connected to a multi-port coupling which connects to the existing water fixture. The transfer line assembly also provides water to the alarm. The housing assembly has a housing with a vertical span of about 3-12 inches. The sprinkler head and alarm are mounted to the housing assembly and the transfer line assembly is connected to the housing assembly. When water is provided to the coupling and the sprinkler head activates, water flows through the transfer line, activating the alarm.

DEVICE FOR EXTINGUISHING BIRTHDAY CANDLES

A device for extinguishing birthday candles comprises a housing, a selectively operable fan adapted to propel ambient air away from the device, and a pressure switch electrically connected to the fan such that the fan operates when the pressure switch is activated. The housing defines an air chamber and an air inlet. The air chamber is adapted to receive exhaled breath from a user via the air inlet. The pressure switch is adapted to be activated by the exhaled breath such that the exhaled breath causes the fan to operate.

The invention is a series of three plush squeaking toys that are obscured within a decorative pop top can so that the user cannot see which character is inside the can, and provides a surprise toy which encourages the consumer to collect the set.

INHALER WITH ACOUSTIC FLOW MONITORING

An inhaler or add-on device for an inhaler for dispensing a medicament to be inhaled. The inhaler or add-on device has a housing (H) with an air inlet (A_I), and an air outlet (A_O) for outputting air to be inhaled by a user. The housing (H) defines a flow path (FP) between the air inlet (A_I) and air outlet (A_O), and a passive acoustic element (PAE) is arranged in this flow path (FP) inside the housing (H). The passive acoustic element (PAE) has a structure having one or more structured gaps arranged to be passed by an air flow and it is dimensioned such that air flow passing it will generate sound (S) with pre-determined characteristics depending on the air flow speed. This allows acoustic monitoring of air flow passing the first passive acoustic element (PAE) external to the housing (H) by capturing and processing sound generated.

Horn device for railcar

There is provided a horn device for a railcar capable of delivering horn sound to a long distance in a traveling direction and being less likely to spread sound in a car width direction. A horn device for a railcar according to one aspect of the present invention includes: a whistle portion that is supplied with compressed air to make horn sound in a traveling direction; a duct located in the traveling direction of the whistle portion and having an opening portion at an end portion in the traveling direction; and at least one partition plate that is disposed perpendicularly to a car width direction, extends in a car longitudinal direction, and divides the interior of the duct.
