Assembly for placement of a cardiac, aortic or arterial implant with stimulation assistance by a peripheral venous or arterial catheter
An assembly for placement of a cardiac, aortic or arterial implant. The assembly includes an insertion sheath of an introducer or of a delivery catheter, which is of a size smaller than that of an introducer, intended to be introduced into an artery of a human body. The metal support of an electrode of the external cardiac stimulator being integrated into the insertion sheath of a peripheral venous or arterial accessory catheter, or a sleeve around the accessory catheter, which is introduced into the peripheral vein or artery of a patient. The sheath of the accessory catheter or the sleeve is therefore directly in contact with a peripheral vein or artery of the patient.
Steerable medical device and method
An apparatus, method, and system for a steerable medical device, configured to be used in conjunction with guide tools and devices in medical procedures, including endoscopes, cameras, cutting tools and catheters.
Bladder rolling machine
An apparatus for rolling a bladder includes a support structure, a rolling pin, and a bladder-mounting pin. The apparatus optionally includes a rolling initiator Rolling a bladder includes inserting the bladder while unrolled into an apparatus for rolling a bladder, inserting the bladder between a rolling pin and a bladder-mounting pin of the rolling machine, and rotating the rolling pin to (a) advance a portion of the bladder between the rolling pin and the bladder-mounting pin, (b) roll the portion of the bladder around the bladder-mounting pin, and (c) drive the bladder-mounting pin to rotate in an opposite direction from that of the rolling pin.
ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEM WITH PATIENT SUPPORT
A robotic surgery system for supporting a patient and a robotic surgical manipulator. The robotic surgery system includes a base, a pillar coupled to the base at a first end and extending vertically upwardly to an opposing second end, and an attachment structure coupled to the second end of the pillar. A patient table is coupled to the attachment structure. A robot support arm has a first end coupled to the attachment structure. The robot support arm extends vertically upwardly from the first end to a second end. The robot support arm may further extend horizontally over the patient table to support a robotic surgical manipulator that will extend generally downward from the robot support arm toward a patient supported by the patient table to place an end effector of the robotic surgical manipulator adjacent a desired surgical site on the patient.
Embolus material and method of manufacturing the same
An embolic material which prevents flow of a biological fluid by being placed in a body lumen via a catheter, the embolic material comprising a material that swells by contacting the biological fluid. The embolic material includes a long filler that is formed smaller than an inner diameter of the catheter. The filler prevents the flow of the biological fluid by bending when brought into contact with the biological fluid due to the difference in swelling characteristics between a first side portion and a second side portion that extend parallel to one another in a longitudinal direction.
Medical device
A medical device capable of adjusting, while a rotating expandable portion breaks an object, a breaking force of the expandable portion. The medical device for breaking a thrombus in a blood vessel includes a shaft portion, an expandable portion that is provided to the shaft portion, a fixing portion that fixes the expandable portion and the shaft portion, a slide portion that is fixed to the expandable portion and is slidable with the shaft portion, and an outer tube that houses therein the shaft portion, in which the slide portion is movable by being indirectly pressed by the outer tube, and the slide portion is relatively rotatable relative to the outer tube.
Handle for a surgical tool
A handle for a surgical tool including a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end with a gripping handle affixed to the proximal end of the shaft. A bushing is attached to the distal end of the shaft, the bushing including a plurality of flexible members circumferentially spaced apart. The handle further includes a sleeve circumscribing the shaft and the bushing. The sleeve is moveable between a first position substantially covering an entirety of the bushing and a second position spaced from a most distal end of the bushing.
Percutaneous Device Exchange
A system and method include operation of a device coupled to a base to hold a catheter to the base, the catheter defining a lumen in which a portion of an elongated medical device is disposed, and a portion of the catheter being disposed in a hemostasis valve, movement of the base relative to the hemostasis valve along a first path while the catheter is held to the base such that the catheter moves relative to the hemostasis valve, and operation of a mechanism coupled to the base to maintain a position of the elongated medical device within the lumen relative to the hemostasis valve while the base and the mechanism are moved along the first path and the catheter is held to the base.
Atherectomy system with supply line fitment
An atherectomy system includes a handle having a handle housing and a drive motor that is disposed within the handle housing and is adapted to rotate a drive cable extending through the handle and operably coupled to an atherectomy burr. A supply line extends from the handle housing. A supply line fitment may be disposed relative to the handle housing and may be configured to releasably secure the supply line relative to the handle housing such that the supply line is directed away from the handle housing in a direction that is selected from two or more directions.
