A specific embodiment of the present method comprises: determining a selected time point of a user performing adjustment of playback progress of a target video, the target video comprising a key frame set; determining a target key frame in the key frame set, a difference between a time point corresponding to the target key frame and the selected time point meeting a first pre-determined condition; on the basis of the target key frame, performing decoding of a video frame corresponding to the selected time point, obtaining a decoded video frame; displaying the decoded video frame in a first target display region. The present embodiment increases flexibility of video frame display, and helps increase user positioning and video frame processing effectiveness.

The encoding optimization application partitions a source video sequence associated with a media title into multiple subsequences that include a first subsequence and a second subsequence. The encoding optimization application then generates a first encoded subsequence based on the first subsequence and a first resolution. The encoding optimization application generates a second encoded subsequence based on the second subsequence and a second resolution. Notably, the second resolution is higher than the first resolution.
