VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING WORKING STATE THEREOF
A virtual reality system and a method of controlling working state of the virtual reality system. The virtual reality system comprises a video playing device and a virtual reality glasses box, and the virtual reality glasses box utilizes a screen of the video playing device to play a video content, the method comprises: establishing a wired or wireless connection between the video playing device and the virtual reality glasses box; when the video playing device is placed in the virtual reality glasses box, transmitting information of wearing state of the virtual reality glasses box to the video playing device; and controlling a playing state of the video playing device according to the wearing state of the virtual reality glasses box. The present disclosure controls the working state of the virtual reality device by the action of the user operating the device itself, and the user does not need to employ tedious and complicated operations to control each of the devices, which increases usability, and improves user experience.
System and method for labeling networked meetings and video clips from a main stream of video
A video recording system and method for labeling networked meetings and video/audio clips from a main stream of video/audio is disclosed and claimed. The video recording system allows a system user to selectively view and label a main video stream or video clips. A rewind control rewinds the main stream of video, and then label the selected video clip from a start pointer to an end pointer. The video recording system also allows network members to teleconference while recording a main stream of video. Any of network members can label selected sections of the teleconference in real time. Further, a recording alert control automatically displays a reminder message to a camera operator after a non-recording duration, such as 5 to 10 seconds, after the software application is opened. This feature is useful when camera operator forgets to record. A voice control feature enables voice command activation of the controls.
Modified media presentation during scrubbing
A computer-implemented method includes displaying, within a user interface in a digital media system, a thumbnail representing at least a portion of a media clip, receiving user input corresponding to a play speed at which a media clip is to be played, determining whether the received user input exceeds one or more predetermined thresholds, and selectively disabling playing of a video portion or an audio portion, or both, based on a result of the determination.
Media registration and authorization on a media player
The disclosed methods and systems provide for the registry and authorization of media on a media player. The method involves maintaining a registry of registered media. Media to be played by the media player is compared to the maintained registry of registered media. If media is registered, authorization it then required to play the registered media.
Video editing apparatus, method and program for the same
A video image editing device or the like, capable of editing a wraparound video image generated by using a plurality of video images captured by multi-viewpoint cameras to be comfortably viewable by viewers, is provided. Based on information about the positions and the sizes of X subjects, a polynomial expression regarding the position of the subject and a polynomial expression regarding the size of the subject are generated. Correction or interpolation of the positions of the H subjects is performed by a polynomial approximation curve using the polynomial expression regarding the position of the subject, correction or interpolation of the sizes of the N subjects is performed by a polynomial approximation curve using the polynomial expression regarding the size of the subject, and the sizes of the N subjects are expanded or contracted with an expansion/contraction parameter p. An intermediate image is generated from two images of the same size corresponding to the photographing devices adjacent to each other, and a wraparound video image is generated, with a parameter indicating the length of the wraparound video image being represented by Tp.
Method of writing a file to a plurality of media and a storage system thereof
In one embodiment, a storage system configured for reading a file written to a plurality of tape media includes at least two tape drives and a read/write control. The read/write control is configured to load a tape medium into a tape drive, and read metadata from the loaded tape medium and determine from the metadata whether the tape medium is a parent tape medium or a child tape medium for the file. The read/write control is also configured to retrieve ID information on the parent tape medium from the metadata saved in the child tape medium in response to a determination that the loaded tape medium is a child tape medium, and load the parent tape medium identified by the retrieved ID information into another tape drive. Moreover, the read/write control is configured to read a written first file part based on metadata saved in the loaded parent tape medium.
Source data adaptation and rendering
The invention relates to a method for source data adaptation and rendering. The method comprises receiving source data; processing the source data to determine rendering parameters; wherein the processing comprises obtaining processing-free temporal segments either by applying wide angles at periodic intervals to the source data or rendering a predetermined region of the source data; determining content characteristics of a visual frame; and utilizing content characteristics for controlling the obtained processing-free temporal segments; signaling the rendering parameters for playback; and adapting the rendering parameters to render the processing-free temporal segments from the source content.

Media content playing scheme
A system may include a server configured to detect speech data from media content and to divide the detected speech data into one or more speech data segments in accordance with at least a respective speaker and a break in the detected speech data; and a media content playing device configured to receive the speech data segments from the server, to receive, from an input device, a control signal to play the media content, and to skip forward or rewind to play the media content starting at the identified starting point corresponding to a first one of the respective speech data segments.
ADAPTING RUNTIME AND PROVIDING CONTENT DURING AN ACTIVITY
Methods and systems are described for identifying and adapting the playback speed of content to be provided during an activity. The methods and systems receive an input including a start cue indicating a start of an activity and access an average duration and an intensity score for the activity. Then the system calculates an adjusted average runtime for the activity based on the average duration and the intensity score and identifies one or more content items, the one or more content items having a total runtime equivalent to the adjusted average runtime for the activity. The system adjusts the playback speed of the identified one or more content items such that the total runtime of playback of the one or more content items matches the average duration for the activity and provides the one or more content items for consumption.
