SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCED IMPLANTATION OF ELECTRODE LEADS BETWEEN TISSUE LAYERS
Systems and methods for enhanced implantation of an electrode lead for neuromuscular electrical stimulation of tissue associated with control of the lumbar spine for treatment of back pain, in a midline-to-lateral manner are provided. The implanted lead may be secured within the patient and used to restore muscle function of local segmental muscles associated with the lumbar spine stabilization system without disruption of the electrode lead post-implantation due to anatomical structures.
Irreversible electroporation (IRE) based on field, contact force and time
A method includes, using a probe, applying irreversible electroporation (IRE) pulses to tissue over a time period to form a lesion in the tissue. A contact force applied to the tissue by the probe is measured over the time period. An IRE index is calculated based on the measured contact force and on a power level of the IRE pulses. Application of the IRE pulses to the tissue is ceased in response to the calculated IRE index reaching a prespecified target IRE index value.
Apparatuses and methods for cooling tissue or fluid
An apparatus for cooling tissue or a fluid for an elongate medical device comprising an elongate shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and comprising a shaft proximal end and a shaft distal end; a support structure located at the shaft distal end, where the support structure is expandable from a contracted state to an expanded state, and a plurality of thermoelectric elements, wherein the thermoelectric elements are located on the support structure. A medical device comprising a first catheter end shape, a second catheter end shape located distally with respect to the first catheter end shape, a support structure that extends between the first and the second catheter end shape, and a plurality of thermoelectric elements. A system for cooling a tissue or a fluid for an elongate medical device, comprising a plurality of thermoelectric elements, a thermocouple, an electronic control unit (ECU).

Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system tone for renal neuromodulation therapy
Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) tone for renal neuromodulation therapy are disclosed herein. A system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a detector attached to or implanted in a patient and a receiver communicatively coupled to the detector. The detector can measure cardiac data and the receiver and/or a device communicatively coupled thereto can analyze the cardiac data to provide one or more SNS tone indicators. The SNS tone indicators can be used to determine whether a patient will be responsive to a neuromodulation therapy and/or whether a neuromodulation therapy was effective.
Surgical instrument with jaw alignment features
A surgical instrument that includes first and second jaws that are movably coupled together to move between an open and a closed position. The first jaw includes a first proximal end, a first distal tip, and a first jaw midpoint between the first proximal end and the first distal tip. The second jaw includes a second proximal end and a second distal tip. The first jaw includes a first alignment feature that is distal to the first jaw midpoint and is configured to engage a corresponding portion of the second jaw when the first and second jaws are moved to the closed position to align the first distal tip with the second distal tip.
Systems and methods for ablation visualization
The visualization method includes displaying three-dimensional image data of at least one anatomical feature of a patient, receiving user input of the target for placing an ablation needle in the at least one anatomical feature of the patient, determining the position and orientation of the ablation needle based on the user input, displaying an image of a virtual ablation needle in the three-dimensional image data of the at least one anatomical feature of the patient according to the determined position and orientation, receiving user input of parameters of operating the ablation needle, and displaying a three-dimensional representation of the result of operating the ablation needle according to the input parameters.
Cell population analysis
A method of analysis using mass spectrometry and/or ion mobility spectrometry is disclosed comprising: (a) using a first device to generate smoke, aerosol or vapour from a target in vitro or ex vivo cell population; (b) mass analysing and/or ion mobility analysing said smoke, aerosol or vapour, or ions derived therefrom, in order to obtain spectrometric data; and (c) analysing said spectrometric data in order to identify and/or characterise said target cell population or one or more cells and/or compounds present in said target cell population.
