Tool-less convertible keying solution for modular components

A convertible chassis system for receiving a plurality of storage drives includes a chassis that includes a plurality of bays for receiving the storage drives. The convertible chassis also includes a reversible key that is removably affixed to the chassis body in either a first orientation or a second orientation. Each orientation provides a different key guide within the plurality of bays that either allows the storage drives to be received into or rejected from the bays of the chassis.

Dynamic air intake control assembly

An air intake control system can consist of an aero-acoustic assembly positioned within an enclosure. The aero-acoustic assembly may have an intake occupied by a plurality of louvers with each of the plurality of louvers configured to move between open and closed positions in response to airflow passing through the intake.

Hard drive carrier

In some implementations, a hard drive carrier is configured to couple and decouple a hard drive to/from a chassis (e.g., motherboard). The hard drive carrier can receive and house a hard drive in a base securing portion, the base securing portion adapted to slide and tilt in relation to a base of the hard drive carrier. The hard drive carrier can include a pivoting lever comprising a handle that can be used to couple and decouple the hard drive from the motherboard. Using the handle to pivot the lever into an open position causes the hard drive to tilt upwards to decouple from the chassis and facilitate insertion or removal of the hard drive to/from the hard drive carrier. Pivoting the lever into a closed position causes the hard drive to lie flat and couple to the chassis.

Base plate with electrodeposition coating film and method for producing base plate

A base plate defines a portion of a housing of a disk drive device. The housing accommodates therein a disk, a spindle motor that rotationally drives the disk about a center axis that extends in a vertical direction, and an access portion that carries out at least one of reading or writing of information with respect to the disk. The base plate includes a cast metal base body and an electrodeposition coating film that covers the surface of the base body. The base body includes a bottom plate portion extending from the center axis to an outward in a radial direction and a wall portion with a rectangular or substantially rectangular shape viewed in the axial direction upward from an outer circumference portion of the bottom plate portion. An outside surface of the wall portion includes a coated surface covered with the electrodeposition coating film, a processing surface which is flat and on which a casting material is exposed from the electrodeposition coating film, and a parting line. The processing surface extends in the axial direction in contact with the parting line or across the parting line.

Provided is a disc storage device including: a casing capable of storing a stacked body including one or a plurality of disc-like recording media and a spacer interposed between the disc-like recording media and an inner surface of a bottom plate; a position regulating unit that regulates a storage position of the stacked body inside the casing; and a plurality of through holes formed in an area of the bottom plate of the casing where the spacer is provided, in which the spacer is adsorbed to tips of pins to be inserted through the through holes.

Storage cover plate and storage chassis using the same

The present disclosure provides a storage cover plate and a storage chassis using the same. The storage cover plate is covered on a storage chassis for accommodating a plurality of storages, wherein the storage cover plate comprises a plurality of closely arranged sub-covers, the plurality of closely arranged sub-covers each corresponds to a row of storages respectively, the plurality of the sub-covers each is capable of sliding along edges of the storage chassis, and the outermost sub-cover is locked with the storage chassis through a locking part. If one of storages needs to be operated, an unlocking operation is performed first and then the sub-cover above the storage is pushed, so that the storage below the sub-cover can be operated directly. The present disclosure is easy to install and convenient to assemble, disassemble and maintain, therefore achieving high economical efficacy and practicability.

DISCRETE COOLING MODULE

A system for storing data includes a discrete cooling module that can enable discrete cooling of mass storage devices installed in the chassis interior of a data storage module coupled to a rack. The discrete cooling module includes an air moving device and an air cover. The air moving device can induce and airflow through the chassis interior of the data storage module to remove heat from heat producing components of mass storage devices installed in the chassis interior. The air cover directs the airflow through the chassis interior. The discrete cooling module can isolate rotational vibrations generated by the air moving device from the mass storage devices installed in the chassis. Partial isolation can include indirectly coupling the discrete cooling module to the chassis via directly coupling with the rack.

Optical disk drive and locking module

An optical disk drive (ODD) including a shell and a locking module is provided. The shell includes a main body portion and a side portion, and the side portion is connected to the main body portion. A concave space is formed between a side surface of the main body portion and a top surface of the side portion. The locking module is disposed inside the concave space. The ODD is detachably held in a support frame of an electronic device through the locking module. In addition, a locking module is also provided.
