COMPACT TOOL-LESS HARD DRIVE DISK CARRIER

A computing device is provided with a drive slot with a connector for engaging a corresponding connector of a HDD, and a first locking element. The computing device includes a removable a HDD carrier for insertion into the drive slot having a bracket, a handle and an enclosure slidably attached to the bracket for securing the HDD. The handle includes a second locking element extending therefrom and configured to receive the first locking element to restrict the removable HDD carrier to vertical motion. The first locking element engages with the second locking element when the handle is in the loading position and the bracket moves relative to the enclosure to secure the hard disk drive in the bracket and connect the connector of a hard disk drive to the connector located at the drive slot when the handle transitions from the loading position to the locked position.

HARD DISK TRAY AND HARD DISK RACK ASSEMBLY

A hard disk tray adapted for accommodating a hard disk having a plurality of screw holes at two sides is provided. The hard disk tray includes a body and a cover. The body includes two body lateral walls and a plurality of fixing members protruding from the two body lateral walls and corresponding to at least a part of the screw holes. The cover is pivoted to the body and includes two cover lateral walls. When the hard disk is placed in the hard disk tray, the fixing members extend into the at least a part of the screw holes, and when the cover is closed to the body, the two cover lateral walls are located outside the two body lateral walls so as to prevent the two body lateral walls from moving outwardly. A hard disk rack assembly is further provided.

Compact tool-less HDD carrier

A computing device with a drive slot having an ear with a vertical receiving groove, a connector for engaging a corresponding connector of a hard disk drive (HDD), and a horizontal track with a pin insertion portion and a pin retaining portion. The computing device also includes a removable a HDD carrier for insertion into the drive slot having a bracket for securing the HDD and a track pin extending therefrom and configured to be inserted into the horizontal track via the pin insertion portion and configured to restrict the removable HDD carrier to horizontal motion when the track pin engages with the pin retaining portion. The HDD carrier includes a handle pivotably attached to the bracket with a guide pin for inserting into the vertical receiving groove and configured to alternate between a loading position and a locked position.

Rack module

A method for adding an electronic component to, removing an electronic component from, or exchanging an electronic component of a rack module mounted in a rack. The rack module includes a frame. The method includes the following: moving a tray connected to the frame from a first position to a second position, in the first position the tray is received within the frame such that an open face of the tray is inaccessible, and in the second position the tray lies outside the frame at an angle to the frame such that the open face is accessible; adding, removing, or exchanging the electronic component through the open face; and moving the tray from the second position to the first position after the electronic component has been added, removed, or exchanged.

Securing Mechanism for data storage device

A data storage device securing mechanism for convenient assembly and disassembly of a data storage device includes a bracket and two latch members. The bracket includes a bottom plate and a first side plate connected with one side of the bottom plate. The first side plate includes a limiting plate and a latch member is secured on the first side plate. One end of each latch member is hooked, and the limiting plate is configured to be elastically deformed to slide the latch member relative to the bracket. The hook is abutted the limiting plate to prevent the limiting plate from rebounding.

Hard drive carrier

In some implementations, a hard drive carrier is configured to couple and decouple a hard drive to/from a chassis (e.g., motherboard). The hard drive carrier can receive and house a hard drive in a base securing portion, the base securing portion adapted to slide and tilt in relation to a base of the hard drive carrier. The hard drive carrier can include a pivoting lever comprising a handle that can be used to couple and decouple the hard drive from the motherboard. Using the handle to pivot the lever into an open position causes the hard drive to tilt upwards to decouple from the chassis and facilitate insertion or removal of the hard drive to/from the hard drive carrier. Pivoting the lever into a closed position causes the hard drive to lie flat and couple to the chassis.

Multi-function handle for Information Handling System (IHS) chassis

A multi-function handle for Information Handling System (IHS) chassis is described. In some embodiments, a chassis may include a sled configured to be installed in a rack; a drawer configured to slide in and out of the sled; and a front panel comprising a handle and a selector, the selector configured to allow a user to selectively pull from the rack using the handle: (i) the drawer without the sled, or (ii) the sled and the drawer. A method may include accessing a chassis installed in a rack, the chassis comprising: (i) a drawer configured to slide in and out of a sled; and (ii) a front panel having a handle and a selector; determining that the selector is in a first position; and pulling the handle to slide the drawer without the sled outward from the rack.
