System and method for increased operating room efficiency
Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.
Method for placing implant using robotic system
A method for placing an implant on a patient in a robotic surgical procedure using a robotic system. During the robotic surgical procedure, a navigation system tracks the patient. The navigation system also provides information to the robotic system to guide movement of a cutting tool to remove material from the patient such that a cut surface is created to receive the implant. The implant is then robotically placed on the cut surface.
Medical kit, packaging system, instruction insert, and associated methods
Printed instructions can be included with the tray in a medical procedure kit.—The printed instructions can include instructional material, such as pictorial, step-by-step instructions intended for a health care services provider for using the medical procedure kit. The printed instructions can also include a separate patient aid, suitable for inclusion within the medical procedure kit, which includes patient education information relating to a particular medical procedure. To make recognition easier, the patient aid can be configured with a greeting card appearance, activity sheet appearance, or other graphical indicia that indicates that the patient aid is intended for the patient and should be delivered to the patient.
Medical Kit and Associated Systems and Methods for Preventing Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection
A medical kit 100 includes a drape 1323. A plurality of pockets (1302,1303,1304,1305, 1306,1307) are disposed along a bottom edge of the drape 1323 in a linear, side-by-side arrangement. A plurality of medical implements (1310,1311,1312,1313,1314,1315) are stowed in the plurality of pockets on a one-to-one basis. Medical indicia (1316,1317,1318,1319,1320,1321) is disposed along each pocket. The medical indicia can include comprising one or more educational prompts that instruct medical personnel how to use a particular medical implement disposed in a pocket to complete a central catheter dressing change.
