SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VIDEO-BASED PATIENT MONITORING DURING SURGERY
20230111386 · 2023-04-13 ·

The present invention relates to the field of medical monitoring, and in particular non-contact monitoring of one or more physiological parameters in a region of a patient during surgery. Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for generating a pulsation field and/or a pulsation strength field of a region of interest (ROI) in a patient across a field of view of an image capture device, such as a video camera. The pulsation field and/or the pulsation strength field can be generated from changes in light intensities and/or colors of pixels in a video sequence captured by the image capture device. The pulsation field and/or the pulsation strength field can be combined with indocyanine green (ICG) information regarding ICG dye injected into the patient to identify sites where blood flow has decreased and/or ceased and that are at risk of hypoxia.

The present invention relates to a method to improve quality control (QC) accuracy. The method comprises at least one input quality control (IQC) check and at least one output quality control (OQC) check for the image to be analyzed. The integrated IQC and OQC results may be mapped onto a pre-defined multi-dimensional space to evaluate the overall QC result.

DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM USING DIFFRACTION ANALYSIS OF IN VITRO SAMPLES

Diffractometer-based global in vitro diagnostic systems or methods may use one or more diffraction apparatuses for the structural analysis of α-keratin and collagen in samples of hair, nails, skin, internal organs, or other tissue of a human or non-human animal. The diffraction apparatuses operatively couple to a computer database and provide sample data including diffraction pattern data for in vitro samples or data derived therefrom. One or more computer systems receive or transmit the sample data or data derived therefrom and process the sample data or data derived therefrom to provide a computer-aided diagnostic indicators.

Method and system for caching medical images based on examination priority

Systems and methods for expediting medical image retrieval based on examination priority are provided. A method includes receiving medical images and parsing the contents to determine medical image information. The method includes applying priority rules based on the medical image information. The priority rules specify an image storage location for storing the medical images. The image storage locations include workstation cache memory and drives of a local storage system having different image access speeds that are slower than an access speed of the workstation cache memory. The method includes storing the medical images at the specified image storage location as defined by the priority rules and retrieving the medical images from the specified image storage location in response to a request to view the medical images at a workstation. The method includes presenting the medical images retrieved from the specified image storage location at a display device of the workstation.

MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

Provided are a medical image processing apparatus and a medical image processing method that effectively display an observation state indication related to the comprehensiveness of observation while suppressing a decrease in the visibility of an endoscopic image. The medical image processing apparatus is a medical image processing apparatus including a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to acquire a plurality of medical images in a time-series manner, make a determination of an observation state in units of a small area of a photographic subject on the basis of the medical images, cause the memory to store a result of the determination, and upon an observation state of the photographic subject being changed, cause a monitor to display an observation state indication of the photographic subject, the observation state indication being based on the result of the determination stored in the memory.

MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR VISUALIZING A DEPLOYMENT STATE OF AN INTRACORPOREAL THERAPEUTIC DEVICE

An end effector state estimation system for use in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) applications performs sensing and prediction algorithms to determine and visualize the state of an implantable therapeutic device during deployment. The end effector state estimation system includes a flexible elongate member, a therapeutic device coupled to a distal portion of the flexible elongate member, a sensor that measures at least one parameter related to the deployment state of the therapeutic device, and a processor. The processor receives image data from an imaging system representative of the therapeutic device positioned within the body cavity of the patient and the at least one parameter from the sensor, determines the deployment state of the therapeutic device based on the image data and the at least one parameter, outputs a graphical representation of the deployment state of the therapeutic device.
