Electronic patient sitter management system and method for implementing

An electronic sitter management system coupled to patient surveillance network having a plurality of video cameras, each camera transmitting a stream of surveillance video of a respective patient room. The sitter management system includes at least one sitter management device and a plurality of sitter devices. Each device being assigned a plurality of patient rooms and capable of receiving a plurality of streams of surveillance video for the corresponding plurality of patient rooms and simultaneously displaying a plurality of video images of the corresponding plurality of patient rooms. Each device is also capable of transmitting sitter device availability information to the sitter management device. The sitter management device being capable of recognizing a sitter device being unavailable and reassigning the plurality of patient rooms previously assigned to the unavailable device to other of the plurality of sitter devices that are available.

Method and system for quantifying limitations in coronary artery blood flow during physical activity in patients with coronary artery disease

Embodiments include a system for determining cardiovascular information for a patient with coronary artery disease. The system may include at least one computer system configured to receive patient-specific data regarding a geometry of the patient's heart and create a model representing at least a portion of the patient's heart based on the patient-specific data. The at least one computer system may be further configured to create, for a given level of physical activity, a physics-based model of blood flow through the patient's heart simulated during a selected level of physical activity; determine and normalize one or more values of at least one blood flow characteristic within the patient's heart during the simulated level of physical activity; and compare the one or more normalized values of the at least one blood flow characteristic to a threshold to determine whether the level of physical activity exceeds an acceptable level of risk.

Method and apparatus for analysing changes in the electrical activity of a patient's heart in different states

A method of analysing changes in the electrical activity of a patient's heart between a reference state and a test state, the method using a reference data set of electrophysiological data captured from the patient in the reference state and at least one test data set of electrophysiological data captured from the patient in the test state, each data set defining a plurality of electrograms for a respective plurality of spatial locations relative to the heart, the method comprising processing the electrophysiological data by, matching each electrogram in the reference data set to a corresponding electrogram in the at least one test data set to create a pair of electrograms for each of the plurality of spatial locations, and deriving a time delay for each spatial location by calculating the time delay between the electrograms of the pair of matched electrograms for that spatial location.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING WRONG-SITE SURGERIES

A system and related methods of preventing wrong-site surgeries and blade-related injuries to OR personnel, which includes a computer software system (for use on computers or hand-held devices in the medical environment) in combination with a surgical supply carrier (such as a safety blade-dispenser or other surgical sharps dispenser). The surgical supply carrier comprises at least one component, such as a label, which prevents or impedes a surgeon from accessing one or more surgical instruments stored within until after a “time-out” is performed by the surgeon or authorized OR personnel to confirm various details including but not limited to correct patient, correct procedure, correct equipment, etc, before starting the intended surgical procedure. Data can be captured throughout the medical environment (from “decision-to-incision” and beyond) to assess wrong-site surgery data (including “near miss” data) and enable a host of analytics on wrong-site surgery prevention.

Generating prescription records from a prescription label on a medication package

The system captures portions of a label on a package in a set of images, reconstructs the label based on the set of images, identifies text in the label, determines associations of identified text and types of information, and stores the set of images, the reconstructed label, the identified text in the label, and the determined associations as, for example, a batch in a review queue. During a review process, the batch is reviewed and a structured prescription record is determined for the batch which is further used by the system and user of the system associated with the batch to provide various features to the user.
