A plant monitoring device (20) is provided with: a detection value acquisition unit (211) that acquires a bundle of detection values; a first Mahalanobis distance calculation unit (212) that calculates a first Mahalanobis distance; a plant state determination unit (213) that determines whether the operation state of a plant is normal or abnormal; a cause detection value estimation unit (214) that estimates a cause detection value which represents a cause of the abnormality of the plant; a second Mahalanobis distance calculation unit (215) that calculates a second Mahalanobis distance by increasing or decreasing the detection value estimated as the cause detection value; and an identification unit (216) that identifies whether the abnormality can be relieved by increasing or decreasing the detection value estimated as the cause detection value.

Cooling Method For Reactor Molten Core Melt And Cooling Control System For Reactor Molten Core

The invention relates to safe operation support systems of nuclear power plants (NPPs) at severe accidents, including methods and systems for cooling and cooling control of the reactors molten core. The invention increases safety of NPP and cooling efficiency of the molten core of a reactor. The invention increases the efficiency of cooling the molten core of a reactor by safely removing the heat load from the molten metal mirror, ensuring the elimination of vapor explosions. The invention changes the principle of cooling the reactor molten core, in that after the molten core destroys the reactor vessel, the conditions for subsequent cooling of the molten metal are determined by the characteristics of the trap casing, but not of the reactor.

Manufacture of Particulate Reference Materials

Methods for forming particulates that are highly consistent with regard to shape, size, and content are described. Particulates are suitable for use as reference materials. Methods can incorporate actinides and/or lanthanides, e.g., uranium, and can be used for forming certified reference materials for use in the nuclear industry. Methods include formation of an aerosol from an oxalate salt solution, in-line diagnostics, and collection of particles of the aerosol either in a liquid impinger or on a solid surface.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REAL-TIME LEARNING-BASED AUGMENTED IRRADIATION CONTROL AND OPTIMIZATION

A machine-learning tool learns from sensors' data of a nuclear reactor at steady state and maps them to controls of the nuclear reactor. The tool learns all given ranges of normal operation and responses for corrective measures. The tool may train another learning tool (or the same tool) that forecasts the behavior of the reactor based on real-time changes (e.g., every 10 seconds). The tool implements an optimization technique for differing half-life materials to be placed in the reactor. The tool maximizes isotope production based on optimal controls of the reactor.

ACOUSTO-OPTIC LEAKAGE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT MAIN STEAM PIPELINE

An acousto-optic leakage monitoring system for main steam pipeline in nuclear power plant. The system includes an acoustic emission leakage monitoring loop and a spectrum leakage monitoring loop, wherein the signal input ends of the acoustic emission leakage monitoring loop and the signal input ends of the spectrum leakage monitoring loop are respectively arranged at detection points of the main steam pipeline. The signal output ends of the acoustic emission leakage monitoring loop and the signal output ends of the spectrum leakage monitoring loop are communicatively connected to each other through a network switch, and the network switch is sequentially connected with a control unit and a display unit. Compared with the prior art, the acousto-optic leakage monitoring system for the main steam pipeline in nuclear power plant according to the present invention provides early warning before the main steam pipeline leaks and realizes the diversity and redundancy of the main steam pipeline leakage monitoring methods by combining acoustic emission and spectroscopy, so that the detection results are more credible, and the maintenance cost after installation is extremely low. The detection sensitivity is higher and the response time is shortened, which significantly improves the response speed after leakage is found and provides a larger safety margin.
