Intraoral scanning using ultrasound and optical scan data
11341732 · 2022-05-24 · ·

First intraoral images of a first portion of a three-dimensional intraoral object are received. The first intraoral images correspond to an intraoral scan of the three-dimensional intraoral object during a current patient visit. A pre-existing model that corresponds to the three-dimensional intraoral object is identified. The pre-existing model is based on intraoral data of the three-dimensional intraoral object captured during a previous patient visit. A first intraoral image of the first intraoral images is registered to a first portion of the pre-existing model. A second intraoral image of the first intraoral images is registered to a second portion of the pre-existing model.

A bacteria removal laser is provided, especially for removing caries bacteria from natural or prosthetic teeth, the prosthetic teeth also being treated via extraoral approach, having a gripping handle, a laser radiation source, an application optics having a predetermined radiation exit surface, especially a radiation guide rod through which laser radiation passes, and an energy source such as a mains connection or an accumulator. The laser emits in the wavelength range between 2200 nm and 4000 nm and is especially designed as an Er:YAG laser. The energy output averaged over time is less than 1 mJ/mm.sup.2 at the radiation exit surface.

Ultrasonic liquid-to-gas device with dynamic balance
20230263590 · 2023-08-24 ·

An ultrasonic liquid-to-gas device with dynamic balance, including an ultrasonic mixing tower, a liquid supplying mechanism and a dynamic self-balancing mechanism. The ultrasonic mixing tower is provided with an air input port and a mixed gas output port, and is formed by a plurality of tower body components connected together; each tower body component is built-in with an ultrasonic hybrid cutting filter screen mechanism. An ultrasonic liquid atomizing mechanism that atomizes liquid is also provided inside the ultrasonic mixing tower adjacent to the air input port; the liquid supplying mechanism is connected with the ultrasonic liquid atomizing mechanism through a pipeline; a middle position of the dynamic self-balancing mechanism is tiltably connected to a bottom of the ultrasonic mixing tower, and four lateral sides of the dynamic self-balancing mechanism are also tiltably connected to lateral sides of the ultrasonic mixing tower respectively.

Laser assisted wound healing protocol and system
11730760 · 2023-08-22 · ·

A method of treating gum disease while healing the wound in the periodontium using a soft tissue diode laser which generates a beam of light having a wavelength in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum (400 nm-700 nm) at a laser power of 0.001 to 1.2 watts, used with intermittent stops to control tissue temperature and biostimulate the periodontium to regenerate and heal its wound when used with substrates, the method comprising: placing the tip of the laser inside the sulcus; penetrating the entire sulcus by moving the laser light circumferentially around the tooth vertically and horizontally throughout the sulcus with intermittent stops to control tissue temperature and placing substrates in the sulcus prior to blood clot formation; followed by RF treatment of the sulcus by placing the RF headpiece tips perpendicular to the sulcus to receive RF current which further penetrates the wound site.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING DENTAL MACHINES
20220142722 · 2022-05-12 · ·

A method, system and a computer readable storage media for operating dental machines through an augmented reality control interface A hands free interface may enable the control of a dental machine during dental treatment by using dexterous parts of the body other than the upper limbs (e.g. by using the lower limbs) on a first user/control interface to send instructions corresponding to a second user/control interface that is different from the first user/control interface.

DENTAL TREATMENT APPARATUS
20220142732 · 2022-05-12 · ·

A dental treatment apparatus includes: a handpiece including a head that holds a cutting tool; a drive unit capable of performing forward rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a cutting direction, and reverse rotation driving for rotating the cutting tool held at the head in a non-cutting direction; an operation receiving unit that receives an operation of an operator; and a controller that controls the drive unit that drives the cutting tool, according to the operation received by the operation receiving unit. Only when a prescribed condition is satisfied, the controller sets the operation received by the operation receiving unit as an operation to drive the cutting tool by reverse rotation driving, or as an operation to drive the cutting tool by twist driving by which the forward rotation driving and the reverse rotation driving are alternately performed.

Dental system and method

Embodiments of the invention provide a laser system including a laser station including at least one laser, at least one processor, and at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium in data communication with the at least one processor. The at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium includes program instructions executable by the at least one processor, and enabling or operating an exchange of data between the at least one laser station and at least one remote network. The laser system includes at least one GUI display configured and arranged to display operating parameters or functions of the at least one laser and/or any of the data exchanged between the laser station and at least one remote network. The program instructions include instructions that direct the processor to update the at least one GUI display with a plurality of user-selectable graphics arranged around the periphery or circumference of a central display.

Augmented reality enhancements for dental practitioners

A processing device receives, from an image capture device associated with an augmented reality (AR) display, a plurality of images of a face of a patient. The processing device selects a subset of the plurality of images that meet one or more image selection criteria. The selection comprises determining, from the plurality of images, a first image that represents a first position extreme for the face; determining, from the plurality of images, a second image that represents a second position extreme of the face; selecting the first image; and selecting the second image. The processing device further generates a model of a jaw of the patient based at least in part on the subset of the plurality of images that have been selected.
