Bend web design for reed switches
A reed switch including a cylindrical enclosure with two ends, a first blade and a second blade is disclosed. The first blade has a first lead, a first web, and a first contact, and the first web is bent at a first angle as compared to the first lead. The second blade has a second lead, a second web, and a second contact, and the second web is bent at a second angle as compared to the second lead. The first contact is disposed adjacent to the second contact with a gap between them.
TWO-STAGE ACTUATION IN MEMS OHMIC RELAYS
A microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switch includes a movable beam suspended over a first set of conductive contacts and a second set of conductive contacts. Actuation of the MEMS switch occurs in two stages. During actuation of the MEMS switch, the movable beam is brought into contact with the first set of conductive contacts in a first stage of actuation. A first conduction path is created when the movable beam contacts the first set of conductive contacts. Continued actuation of the MEMS switch causes the movable beam to contact the second set of conductive contacts in a second stage of actuation. A second conduction path is created when the movable beam contacts the second set of conductive contacts.
High power, multi-phase, AC power contact arc suppressor
An arc suppressing circuit configured to suppress arcing across a power contactor coupled to an alternating current (AC) power source having a predetermined number of phases, each contact of the power contactor corresponding to one of the predetermined number of phases includes a number of dual unidirectional arc suppressors equal to the predetermined number of phases of the AC power source. Each dual unidirectional arc suppressor includes a first phase-specific arc suppressor configured to suppress arcing across the associated contacts in a positive domain, a a second phase-specific arc suppressor configured to suppress arcing across the associated contacts in a negative domain, and a coil lock controller, configured to be coupled between a contact coil driver of the power contactor, configured to detect an output condition from the contact coil driver and inhibit operation of the first and second phase-specific arc suppressors over a predetermined time.
Switchgear system that determines contact erosion in circuit breaker
A switchgear system includes a switchgear frame and a truck carrying a circuit breaker, which includes a breaker housing, a fixed electrical contact and a movable electrical contact mounted within the breaker housing, an actuator piston connected to the movable electrical contact, and a drive assembly coupled to the actuator piston. A sensor circuit is mounted on the switchgear frame under the truck and aligned with the circuit breaker and configured to acquire displacement data of the actuator piston when in a contact testing position. A controller is coupled to the sensor circuit and configured to receive the displacement data and determine electrical contact erosion within the circuit breaker.
COMPONENT AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT, AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING COMPONENTS
A component for an aircraft includes at least one connection interface, wherein the connection interface is configured to simultaneously establish an electrical connection and a mechanical connection. An electrical system for an aircraft and a method for connecting components for an aircraft are disclosed.
MOVING CONTACT MECHANISM
A moving contact mechanism with a contact support that rotates around a third axis, a moving contact pivotable around a contact axis, and both ends of the contact spring are a third end of the spring and a fourth end of the spring, respectively, which are rotatably connected to the moving contact and the contact support respectively. A geometric axis of the contact spring is a second axis line located on one side of the third axis when the moving contact is normally on or off. The contact spring keeps the moving contact in an on or off state. The moving contact rotates relative to the contact support when repelled, drives the contact spring to rotate around the fourth end of the spring, so that the second axis line swings to the other side of the third axis, and remains in a temporary breaking position.

Circuit breakers incorporating reset lockout mechanisms
Multi-pole and single-pole circuit breakers include a housing and a reset lockout mechanism disposed within the housing. The reset lockout mechanism disables electrical communication between line and load terminals of the circuit breaker if a predefined condition exists. Some circuit breakers include a single actuator, transition between ON and OFF states, and are capable of performing test functions. The test functions may involve testing AFCI and/or GFCI functions of the circuit breakers. The test functions may be performed when the circuit breaker transitions from an OFF state to an ON state. Some circuit breakers including a reset lockout mechanism may be powered only on its line side. Some circuit breakers provide an electrical indication when they are in the OFF state.

High Speed Arc Suppressor
A high speed arc suppressor and method include a first phase-specific arc suppressor configured to suppress arcing across contacts of the power contactor in a positive domain and a second phase-specific arc suppressor configured to suppress arcing across the contacts in a negative domain. First and second high speed switches are configured to enable and disable operation of an associated one of the first and second phase-specific arc suppressors. First and second drivers are configured to drive the first and second high speed switches.
